I just wanted to add, that, even with being a Camouflage completist, this compilation is useful to the average fan, in that, it contains many SINGLE mixes of the songs, different to the album versions. And the packaging and artwork is quite nice too. Woulda been nice to have a new track featured on here, but, all the important songs are here. I think every Camouflage fan has their favorites though, so if your fave is missing, dont feel alone.
Here is a collection of most of Camouflage's best tracks, but with a couple of obvious ommisions. Where are "That Smiling Face" and "Anyone"? Also, a few of the tracks here hardly seem to qualify as their best("A Picture of Life", "Strangers Thoughts", "I Once Had A Dream"). The remix of "Love Is A Shield", however, is quite good.
I love camouflage, for the last 10 years, they been one of the best synth-pop creators every album they put out is a different
,sometimes rough(meanwhile),and sometimes sub-real(voices & images)but there always full of stories & fantasy,i dont't have
a favorite album, i love everyone of them in different ways, but
i do agree with kevhamilton this album needs"this smiling face"
(the single version only available in the 12'inch vinyl),and also
more!more!..remixes,....william orbit's mix is deliciously,huntingly a masterpiece,..i gess we will "waiting,waiting,waiting,waiting"...for the remix album ....
love you guys...........
Camouflage are too good a group to buy a Greatest Hits album from.
Most of the tracks are strong: stylistically, Camouflage are similar to Depeche Mode. All the more reason to buy the original albums and appreciate the holistic context in which they were first written. Why have one's listening spoiled by a record company's decisions?
