Review - Amazon.com
Mexican band Cafe Tacuba celebrates 15 years of making--and often revolutionizing--Spanish rock with Un Viaje. This lush, luxurious live set includes three discs of music and one electrifying DVD. (Separate versions are also available, but this generous edition is the most satisfying and is moderately priced.) The group has culled the best moments from a two-night stand in Oct. 2004 at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, and the results are consistently electric. Every song, every rhythm, every guitar lick, every laugh is important, a not-to-be-missed moment. Cafe Tacuba's potent mix of music and message is a powerful thing, and the group thrives in its unflinchingly earnest, sweetly sincere approach to its art. Even during backstage interviews and recording studio hijinks, each member seems wholly pleased to be a part of the process. Throughout the proceedings, Cafe Tacuba's ardent fans thank them with hoots, hollers and constant singalongs to almost every song, making Un Viaje a joyous trip for everyone involved. --Joey Guerra

- Cafe Tacuba Rocks!!!

I have been listening to Cafe Tacuba for many years now. I have all of their cds. I do not speak spanish, but their music transends true talent. "Un Viaje" is a fantastic live recording. Packed with great songs from the past and songs from their most recent album "Cuatro Caminos", this cd smokes. Unfortuatly, I have not seen Cafe Tacuba live, but after hearing this cd and watching the dvd, I am wishing they will come my way soon to see them. Cafe Tacuba is increadible, sick, off the the chain or which ever phrase you wish to apply. If you like rock music....really like rock music, buy this cd. You will not be disapointed. If you don't speak spanish, it doesn't matter. You'll be jumpin' to the melodies just the same.

- ¡¡Cinco estrellas no bastan!!

- Incredible cuisine at this Cafe

Is this one of the five best bands on the planet? After a half hour watch on Austin City Limits and three dozen listenings of Un Viaje, I cannot help but come to that conclusion.

These guys can do it all, from Nirvanaish drone (Cery Y Uno) to 311 stomp (No Controles), from Eno instrumentalism (La 6 and Reves) to the best Chi Chi's music you've ever heard in your life (La Ingrata). And then they do a little Dire Straits (La Locomotora) and then a little Eydie Gorme (Eres) and then a little Beck-style rap (Chilanga Banda)...and bit by bit, song by song, one becomes more and more amazed by the depth, the breadth, the humor, and the originality of the music.

Lyrics? Can't tell a word of 'em. Doesn't matter.

This band is probably THE great gem in the rough I've ever discovered in my fifty years of music listening. Do not, I repeat DO NOT, pass them up. The cuisine at this Cafe is incredible, and the menu goes for pages and pages. Oh, and it's cheap too. A CD and a DVD for under 20 dollars. A better deal you will not find anywhere.

Bottom line: I freakin' LOVE Cafe Tacuba. I think you will, too.

- Amazing box set!

This is the first Cafe Tacuba's live release and it exceeds expectations. The group is amazing performing live, indeed this concert has great video edition and excellent sound. I would not get tired of say that this is the best latin american group. They mix all kind of rhythms and genres in order to create exceptional music. I recomend fully this box set for everyone, even the people have not listened them yet.
