This time out, the band extended themselves seriously for the fans, laying down three hard rock & roll numbers by composers they admire (Carl Perkins, Larry Williams, Little Richard) as well as turning in one of their choicer originals, "I Call Your Name." This was to be the only time that non-originals filled up most of the space on a Beatles EP, and the next-to-last time that they cut songs specifically for the EP market in England. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide
