The Buzzcocks have that fantastic rock/punk sound, buzzsaw guitar, pulsing bass and precision drums all moving together like a monster engine in service to Shelley's fantastic songs (and occassionally to Diggle's sometimes equally great song creations). This album is later than their compiled great singles album- singles going steady - I think that one's called also highly, highly recommended (yes a punk-pop SINGLES band as one facet, how bout that?!). Every song on this CD is excellent. There is also a nice variety and a little bit of stretching out with the song "I believe in". I played this album, almost randomly plunking down the needle on one or two different tracks every week in my college dj show, way back in the 80's when this came out. The CD version of this adds a nice bonus EP that I also had in my record collection and makes it a great all-around purchase (EP songs are also quite good) though granted it does not seem to be available cheaply. Still - in my book 20 dollars well spent. I love this CD.
