- Another B.A. Compliation

Long story short: If you're a big fan (like me), you have all these songs already which makes this release pointless. If you're a casual fan looking for the hits, just spend the extra $10 and buy Anthology which will give you 3x as many songs and covers his entire career (up until 2007 anyways).

- Great for starters. Loyal fans don't need it.

This CD collects 12 of BA's biggest hits. Why only 12 I don't know, but if I myself had to choose 12 songs to summarize his career, I would have chosen the same exact songs.

They're not all necessarily my favourites, but it makes it easier to view his later years in a short time and puts them in perspective adequately.

Yes, there are a handful of songs missing. I don't think I have to mention which ones, if you're a fan you already know. But not all people want an extensive collection like "Anthology"; there are casual fans who only want the surface, and this is literally just scratching the surface of his work.

For a 12-song collection, this is about as perfect as you can get. Just keep in mind that he has done a lot more songs that deserve to be in your collection, but if you're a newcomer, this will make a good purchase... along with "

", of course.

- Adams has the vocals and pop sense for songs

He rocks, he sings, he entertains...great choices here, though I did not know all and some sounding country-ish, but he can craft a tune.

- Can't Stop Him

When it has came down to great music, there just hasn't been any strong artists that have really shown their absolute driven colors. But there are some artists who've had great guilty pleasures during their hey day. Bryan Adams has had some really strong song from the 80's and 90's that still sound just as vibrant and fresh today, as they did back when they first came out. But he hasn't had anything new and fresh for die hard fans for awhile, and instead chose to focus on the classics that made him one of Canada's best imports. Now another greatest hits albums showcases what made him great. But is it worth its money, well yes and no.

Icon: Bryan Adams is a reflection of what made Bryan Adams so strong in the first place. The collection is not anything really strong for die hard Bryan Adams fans, but still simpple and welcoming for newcomers. The collection of songs focuses on Bryan's biggest hits, but not really anything surprising. The songs have all been remastered well, and include a lot of his classics like Everything I Do (I Do It For You,) the classic Heaven, Cuts Like A Knife, Run To You, and Can't Stop This Thing We Started. The collection of songs isn't bad, but still there were a lot of classics that were overlooked from the collection. The album overlooks some of his classics like It's Only Love with the legendary Tina Turner, All For Love with Rod Stewart and Sting, and Please Forgive Me to just name a few.

Overall Icon: Bryan Adams isn't a bad greatest hits collection, but not anything that really makes its definitive or stand out compared to his other hits collections. If you're a die hard fan of his, I absolutely recommend one of his other hits albums like 2005's Anthology, or the classic 1993 hits album So Far So Good. But as for Icon: Bryan Adams it fairs as a decent sampler for anyone that wants to hear some of the best power ballads from one of Canada's best imports from the 80's.

i am not the biggest music buff so i did not know who Bryan Adams was for a while. one of the songs that i like that he sings is the song for robin hood prince of thieves (Everything i do it just for you). i will say one of his more famous songs.
