Análisis
There are countless Bob Marley collections on the market, most of which have dubious value, although not because the music is bad (it usually isn't), but because these releases often carelessly mix musical eras and are frequently drawn from vinyl sources, which means the fidelity is often suspect. 127 King Street compiles mostly Wailers self-productions from 1971, recorded just prior to the group signing with Island Records, although at least two of the tracks, "Don't Rock My Boat" (here called "Rock My Boat") and "Sun Is Shining" were produced in conjunction with Lee "Scratch" Perry. Five DJ toasts over familiar Wailers rhythms are tacked on as "bonus" tracks. The end result is a bit scattershot, and since everything collected here is available on more thorough anthologies elsewhere, there really isn't a burning need to pick this one up, although the cover photo is cool. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
