Análisis - Product Description
With a regular role as Cecilia in WB's hit TV series 'Seventh Heaven', Ashlee already has a fan base & has been a fixture in many teen publications. At only 19 years old, she's an accomplished talent. 'I just wanted to go in & make a record & not worry about what genre it would be', she says. 'I went in to have a good time & did. It's a rock record with a cool edge to it.' Produced by John Shanks (Michele Branch, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Alanis Morrissette, & Unwritten Law) it features the first single 'Pieces Of Me'.
Análisis - Amazon.com
You hear a lot of echoes throughout Ashlee Simpson's Autobiography, but her big-eyed, bright-smiled sister Jessica isn't behind a one of them. That'll come as no surprise to fans and anyone who has caught the "darker" Simpson sister on MTV, which is responsible for hurtling the hard-edged "Pieces of Me" onto radio playlists across the country and creating a mini frenzy over this CD's content. Stoking the gossip-fueled flames is track three, "Shadow." On it, 19-year-old Ashlee spills her childhood resentment over her sister's attention-gulping career, ending up on a conciliatory note that has the surprising effect of making the Simpson divas' drama seem believable ("Everything's cool now…and the past is in the past," she sings). But serious music fans ought not to dilly-dally with the celeb stuff and dive right in, because this disc dishes up more than a lot of us bargained for. "LaLa" revs up the unsuspecting by way of out-and-out lustiness, "Love for Me" lays on the lovelorn angst thick, and the title track is a take-no-prisoners, love-me-or-leave-me rock anthem. Rippling throughout are cunningly malleable vocals, bending here for a kittenish Gwen Stefani effect, stretching there to sound Christina Aguilera-cathartic. Sweeter moments call to mind the indie sensibilities of Jill Sobule. More than others of her reality-show insta-star ilk, Ashlee Simpson's is an autobiography that shouts, "bring on the sequel." --Tammy La Gorce

Where do people come up with this garbage?

It is so obvious she's about as real an artist as her sister (rich & dumb Jessica Simpson-Lachey). The music is so vapid, phoney and devoid of any real content; the lyrics remind me of love notes scribbled on the back of a trapper keeper. I enjoy great, entertaining music like the next person - but this stuff just insults the intelligence.

Come on now? Why can't people get behind real artists, people with actual talent and interesting things to say? Not talking depth, but just plain reality? It's disheartening, one, that this is the kind of stuff the industry seems to always get behind - cash cow potential; but on the other hand, people buy up this rubbish? This seems to be one of the hoofprints of our culture: toss anything into the troth and we eat it up. Maybe it really doesn't matter in the end. Life is short, so who cares?

Yeah, who cares: buy more, buy now.

- SNL performance, how do you ever come back from that?

Mmmmm, wow! I am a private voice teacher, have made professional recordings & tour internationally with a professional vocal group. I can't tell you how many times I have told my students who were interested in her music to just" wait & see....she has so many things she does wrong when it comes to singing, there is no way she can pull it off without the recording studio's help or faking it live. She sings so incorrectly, her voice is going to give out on her, plus the vocal nodules is a very serious thing to be messing with & still be singing at all until that has healed & the wrong issues have been corrected...it's just a matter of time & then serious, irreparable damage can & usually sets in. " It was quite obvious on her Ashlee show she couldn't hack it. Not being used to performing the songs all in one show & that she just needed to build up her endurance....is pure ignorance. She can't do it because she doesn't know how to sing right and she has vocal nodes. Carrying a tune & singing are completely 2 different things. I get the point that she has her own style and the raspiness gives her an edge, but hello.....raspiness in a singing voice is a serious indicator! Vocally, you cannot do it without your voice just giving out on you...the problem has to be corrected. Any good voice teacher..not vocal coach....teacher, will teach you the "method's" of singing correctly, which takes time...you don't just get it in an hour, week or even a year's time...it's a process. You had a style which is what a vocal coach works with, voice teachers know the pedagogical applications of the instrument...how you abuse it & what will happen, how the muscles...the larynx..how to perform...including screw ups or the unexpected....etc all play a apart. For instance, Kelly Clarkson had problems at the beginning, she was losing her voice , she was cancelling performances....then she hired a private voice teacher & you can tell the differences. She's not screaming anymore, she's singing & it's being done correctly with breath support...etc, all the things that most pop singers think you don't need because you're a pop singer. "lightbulb"---ding, there's a reason learning how to sing correctly is essential. Once you learn it correctly, you can apply that to any style of singing...even pop. SNL's performance was proof positive of that! How embarassing, I admit, it would be hard to show your face again after that, but then blaming it on the band...come on, take responsibility! A good musician NEVER passes blame to the band regardless of the mistake and when YOU are the header of the group. It's not Ashlee Simpson & the garage band or whatever....it's your name getting the credit. That was a lethal decision someone or you made....... And, you NEVER.....NEVER, NEVER walk off the stage! You keep going, even if it means you stop & say..."hey, wrong song, cue to the next one" & then sing your hiney off to make up for the boo-boo. This I say from experience. An audience is much more likely to forgive you if they see & hear "Oh, it was unfortunate, but she delivered" Then, you NEVER quote yourself in a magazine saying how much your against lip synching & it offends you and then do it. You HAVE TO at that point notify your audience of the vocal problems & offer to "perform" even with a back up track for the sake of following through a performance with grace.....otherwise, the price is very steep....especially in this business. The road to redemption now will be long and hard & all over the world people will be questioning your capabilities everytime you perform....especially live. That's hard! I somewhat agree with the previous review....another year & she may not be history, but her career has just taken a HUGE blow,it won't be the same. She might not recover from this. Unfortunately it's being broadcast everywhere including Good Morning Today with Katie Couric...YIKES! It's one thing to make a record, a recording studio could make anyone sound better, but if you can't deliver! Just another Britney Spears. My suggestion is you should sing "live" on the Radio Music Awards to save face....because at this point, the lip synching is on everyone's mind, so now you have to prove yourself. I just saw a picture of Ashlee recently holding up a "milli Vanilli" album ??? Not sure where this photo came from but, ....doesn't that give some serious insight! Good Luck, you're gonna need it.

- Please don't buy this

First off, I didn't buy the album, my roommate did. The only reason this album was created was because Ashlee is Jessica's sister. I'm sorry to the fans out there, but Ashlee can't sing. She got a record deal because of MTV and her last name, and those record companies were smart because guess what? People don't know what "music" is anymore, and they'll buy anything they hear on the radio or advertisements. For those who gave this 4-5 stars, please listen to the album again and try telling me that any random 18-year old girl can't sing the same lyrics and probably sing much better.

I hope all you idiots out there who buy this crap realize that everytime you purchase this "musician's" album, your contributing to the expensive cloths and cars that she doesnt need, but has it anyway to add to the driving force bad musicians have to make everyone around them feel inferior

just thought a reality check would enlighten you
