Review - Product Description
Exciting emerging young band from the northern beaches of sydney release a special double ep that includes their 1st two eps - 'chocolates & cigarettes' and 'heart full of wine'. Word has been spreading considerably over recent months which has resulted in the brother and sister duo being played on a significant rotation on radio all around the country. Their recent uk tour earned them an invite into chris potter's studio (the verve/richard ashcroft) to record the new ep not to mention a helping a hand from fran healy (travis). These recordings have recently been released as stand alone eps, and now together as a specially packaged double ep. Angus & julia stone will be heading out on their 'heart full of wine' tour in february in both australia and the uk along with picking up some festivals along their travels.

- Very good first effort

I agree with the other reviewers - this is really quite good. Angus and Julia Stone are relatively fresh on the scene and are creating some fine new songs. They manage to do this without the usual affectation and pretentiousness that worries a few of the "artier" independant performers and bands - they tread a fine line but manage to avoid emabarrassing cliche. The brother/sister dynamics are apparent in the subtle harmonies and intuitive playing and this is most appealing when you see them performing live. Julia is a multi-instrumentalist, picking up trumpet, blues harp and keyboard while brother Angus may also be, but perseveres with guitar. This not something I expected from Sydney's sappy jazz and stodgy blues-rock infested Northern Beaches. I predict a bright and interesting future for them, as they are much more than a cut above. Engaging, accessible and artful music. Take the time to go and hear them play at your local if the opportunity arises - I'm confident you won't leave disappointed.

- Soft and friendly

If you like acoustic guitar with soft vocal, don't miss this. I think they should be much famous and well known with such nice music they make. Maybe they will be in the near future. Very easy and joyful to listen. A young but mature voice. Friendly. I have been listening to this CD over and over again and still no sign of getting bored. It doesn't always happen to me. But the music of Angus and Julia Stone is so natural that it becomes a part of the atmosphere around you very easily.

- Great Music

This album is really just nice to listen to while you are driving or reading or just wanting to relax. Really like the male voice the best and the paper aeroplane song.

- A++ for Angus and Julia.

This is an excellent double EP. A friend and I saw Angus and Julia Stone perform live and we were both equally impressed. They blew away everyone in the audience at a venue where that is rarely the case. I immediately set out to buy their EP and the new album and I love them both. The group has great videos on youtube if you want to get an idea of their sound before buying the album. On the EP, my favorite by far is Private Lawns.
