Análisis - Product Description
Amethystium is a music project aiming to create and explore emotive imaginary worlds in sound. Primarily electronic-based, the compositions traverse a span of moods that includes both light and darkness, bliss and melancholy. They range from the purely relaxing to the subtly intense, creating dreamlike and evocative musical journeys. Formed by Norwegian composer/producer Oystein Ramfjord, Amethystium started out independently with a demo release in late 1999. After quickly becoming something of an underground phenomenon through word of mouth, the project was signed to then EMI/Capitol subsidiary Neurodisc Records and released a string of three Top 10 Billboard charting albums in the US.

- A terrific progression forward!

Though still very much Amethystium sounding, Oystein Ramfjord has taken this album and developed his sound somewhat. The results are in many cases breathtaking with most of the album having more depth, rhythm and beat then his past offerings. He still uses voices on Isabliss largely as an additional instrument with limited lyrics, much like earlier Delerium albums did. However, many of these songs are the strongest on the album with the vocals adding a sense of air and beauty to the rich beats.

Highlights for me include Treasure, Anthemoessa, Strangely Beautiful, Frosty Morning Bliss and my personal favorite track Silken Twine.

If your a fan of Oystein Ramfjord previous albums and/or early Delerium (Semantic Spaces, Karma era) then you will surely enjoy Isabliss!

Very nice instrumental, increased use of melodic vocals, not as good as previous relesaes. Worth the cost. Hope the next is better.

- Still not as good as the first 2 albums

Ok so I thought this album would take me back to the

and

styles. I was somewhat disappointed, as this album sounds more like

, which I didn't find very terribly exciting. At least this album Isabliss had the hit track "Treasure". I also liked "Silken Twine". The rest were just OK, and while I found myself a little let down overall, this is still a decent album. Or is that just loyalty and faith speaking? :) Maybe after a few listens, I will start enjoying Isabliss a lot more.

- Drifting Blissfully In A Sonic Sea

I have two of Amethystium's previous releases, Aphelion and Evermind, both of which I enjoy immensely, and have come to expect good material from them. Like their others, this album is quite good. The synths wash over you and the pleasant sounding vocals take you away to a faroff place where your problems can't follow. You get the distinct sense that something mystical is going on, what exactly is open to interpretation. Oystein Ramfjord (the composer, producer, and performer of Amethystium) knows how to make a song interesting and rich without making it cluttered with ideas that miss the mark. This is mellow music that is very calming and easy to listen to, but it is by no means boring. It stimulates the emotions and can be downright uplifting at times. Consider it a tranquil tonic for today's busy stressful world.
