I haven't really enjoyed Amber's last two albums, so I've been detouring around them and traveling down her CD Single route, which is a path that works best for Amber...her great vocals over club anthem remixes in various styles found on the singles.
And this CD single for "Anyway" will not disappoint the casual dance fan or the Amber mega-fan. (I personally like Al.B.Rich versions the best.) On this single, you'll get the heavenly trifecta of clever lyrics, silk vocals and feverish Saturday Night club beats. The chorus of this song is so inviting, relaxed and flowing...as if its gently blowing as a banner in the sun on a breezy beach. OK, that sounds a bit corny, but its true.
Good job Amber and Remixers! In the current state of music, I'm counting on you guys to put out material like this more than ever.
All I can say is that Amber really did it on this one! You MUST pick it up, along with the CD/Album!
Go Amber ! Tommy Boy and Amber prove that they have their hands on the pulse of top NY dance flava. Although I prefer the first 2 releases of her album to this one (Yes and Need to be naked), Anyway has incredibly creative lyrics by current and dance standards and the mesmerizing electro base remix gives the song new life. This song didnt chart as high as the first two #1's but is still worth a spin in the dj booth. Very hot track. Keep it coming, Amber
The third single lifted off of Amber's essential third long-player NAKED finds her resting a bit from the usual Eurodisco dance throwdown in favor of this sterling midtempo gem, arguably the high point of that set and a great showcase for her continued growth as a vocalist. Of course, Amber wouldn't be Amber without a clutch of first-rate remixes, highlighted here by both DJ Encore mixes, as well as an ever-so-slight alteration by Thunderpuss' Chris Cox that enhances the song while maintaining much of it's original flavor. All in all, possibly this enduring diva's finest moment, and another in a seemingly endless line of first-rate singles.
Here is another jewel off her new album Naked. This cut is as stellar as the rest of the album. Of all the great versions of this song, the Al B Rich mix is the greatest. I look forward to many more singles and albums from this dance diva.
