- An Awesome CD

36 Crazyfists is a very talented band that doesnt get half the attention they deserve. While bands like Slipknot and Korn tear up the charts, 36 Crazyfists is one of rocks best kept secrets, and its a shame. 36 Crazyfists in my opinion are sort of on the borderline between metal and nu-metal. They arent quite heavy or technical enough to really be classified as metal, but they are..well, too good to be classified as nu-metal, although by genre they could be.

THE GOOD:

The first thing I noticed about this band was the vocalist. He has a very weird and unique singing voice. It takes an acquired taste, but once you get used to it youll love it. His vocals are very emotional and heartfelt which really drive the songs. The lyrics are also very good. The musicianship is good. They dont do anything mind blowing but they do enough to keep you interested.

THE BAD:

Well, the vocals may annoy some people. Like I said, they do take some getting used to, Brocks singing voice isnt much like youll hear anywhere else. Once you get used to it youll love it, but some people will put the CD down before they get used to it. Another problem : 36 Crazyfists is classifiable as nu-metal. This isnt a problem for me. Im pretty open minded, I listen to the bands I like and try not to pay too much attention to genres, but some people will hear that this is nu-metal and instantly discredit it, when it is really better than any nu-metal out there.

Overall, this is a very good CD and I strongly recommend it no matter what genre of rock or metal you are into.

- The Bitterness Within Us All

The Crazyfists are raw power. Their music is most definitely some of the best artwork among metal musicians today. The way they articulate their music is inspiring and at times rehabilitating.

Music, for me anyway, is like a form of therapy. When I am all messed up about something, it is one of the only tools that can make me feel balanced and "whole" again. This album has done a lot for me in this field. It is one of those albums that expresses the emotions we as human beings feel, but like to just bury deep inside ourselves.

The depth behind the lyrics, the violent raging out of passion revealed within this album has given me something I can relate to in my times of despair; keeping me sharp and determined to move forward as oppose to just giving up.

Some of you reading this review probably have no idea what I am talking about, and that is fine. However, I'm sure some of you stand on the same side of the tracks as I. This is music that serves a higher purpose, not just for entertainment sake. 36 Crazyfists know what a powerful weapon music can be, and I am thankful for their talent.

"A Snow Capped Romance" 3/16.... buy it.

- Alaska RULES !!

This band coming from Alaska, is awesome. This band is one of my favorite. The mix of Hard music and melody is simply beautiful. The guitar, drum and bass are very good. And the voice is undescriptible, no band have the vocal look like that. Buy it if you have the occasion, its a great band that need support just like many other band, but you will not regret it, im sure!

- A Must-Have

BITTERNESS THE STAR is an exhilirating experience from beginning to end. The band hails from Alaska, and you can hear it in the music itself. The guitar has a harsh, jagged sound to it that reflects the barren landscape of the bands origin.

36's vocalist, Brock Lindow, has a unique quivering vocal delivery that may be a little off-putting at first, but after a moment you realize that it is just what the band needs to separate their sound from the others. The other thing that separates them are the songs themselves. They have an emo side to them that doesn't at all detract form the heaviness displayed on the majority of the album. In fact the softer melodies only reinforce the harshness of the songs.

"Turns to Ashes", the album-opener is my favorite track off the album. There are several that come close, but "Ashes" is a the perfect opener, utilizing all their styles and sounds to make a perfect sing-along metal anthem.

A must-have for all metal fans.

- These guys are great!!!

This band has been around for a while and I consider myself to be lucky that I heard them when I did. This CD has so many songs that I and many other people can relate to. Plus they have a sound that is new to the rock world. Their vocalist may not be able to scream like other metal vocalists but he has a very good and unique voice. And then they end their great CD with a slow sad song that im sure practically everyone can relate to. So if your looking for something good to listen to pick this one up.
