Shhh! Don't tell anybody, but secretly I quite like 1980s electro-synthpop. This is from Yazoo's album, Upstairs at Eric's which is fantastic and doesn't contain a single bad song. For those not familiar with Yazoo, They were, synthesiser wizard, Vince Clarke and, voice of a slightly butch angel, Alison Moyet. Anyway, I set out to do a pure acoustic ukulele version of the song but was posessed by Marilyn Manson's version of Soft Cell's Tainted Love and ended up playing the concert uke through a distortion effect and close to the amp for feedback effect at the end of the phrases. I put a drum machine track on it - don't worry, my homemade percussion will be back. So only the soprano uke and double-tracked (in places) vox are acoustic. Ask me if I care....
