The White Stripes are an American rock band, formed in 1997 in Detroit, Michigan. The group consists of songwriter Jack White (vocals, piano/keyboards, and guitar) and Meg White (drums, vocals). After releasing several singles and three albums within the Detroit independent music underground, The White Stripes rose to prominence in 2002, as part of the garage rock revival scene. Their successful albums White Blood Cells and Elephant drew them attention from a large variety of media outlets in the United States and the United Kingdom. |

On Tuesday November 3rd, The Fillmore was buzzing with energy. The Fillmore is a fairly large venue in Charlotte NC where bands by the name of Blondie, The White Stripes, Eric Clapton, Johnny Cash and Prince have played. Big names perform here and, if they're lucky, smaller bands perform in hopes of getting to the big leagues.
