The White Stripes are an American rock band, formed in 1997 in Detroit, Michigan. The group consists of songwriter Jack White (vocals, piano/keyboards, and guitar) and Meg White (drums, vocals). After releasing several singles and three albums within the Detroit independent music underground, The White Stripes rose to prominence in 2002, as part of the garage rock revival scene. Their successful albums White Blood Cells and Elephant drew them attention from a large variety of media outlets in the United States and the United Kingdom. |

Date: 03 Sep 2009 The first five songs here are all good and inform the whole album. Light of the Morning and Death by Diamonds and Pearls are a duo of dirty, bluesy rock songs about sex that attack in different ways (sensual, nasty), while I Know What I Am features vocal interplay that puts The White Stripes to shame.
