- WOW! I'M IMPRESSED!!This was actually quite a good album, not that I doubted Victoria's abilities, but I hadn't gotten to hear enough of her before to make any accurate pre-judgements. It's too bad it wasn't released here in the U.S, but considering the un-popularity of the Spice Girls over here, I don't know if it would necessarily do that well. This album, as I said, is great, and is more pop-with-an-R&B-edge than Mel B's which was just straight R&B (also recommended.) Though this album does have a relatively similar sound for all the songs, it is a catchy feel-good sound that will always have you singing along. (I'm down with the vocodor!) These are the tracks that, to me, stand out the most: 1/ I'm Not Such An Innocent Girl: Which of course is the snappy debut single which is just chock full of adittude and has sort of a flowing, breezy disco sound to it. 2/ Girlfriend: just a fun, likeable, danceable song that you're guarenteed to enjoy, like at a club or something. 3/ I.O.U: a very sweet ballad for her husband. But before you gag at the word ballad, let me tell you, she makes the R&B ballad something creative to enjoy, as opposed to all that "slow-jam" nonsense, that makes you either want to hide under the couch, smash the radio, or fall asleep whenever you hear it, and makes it, well, what can I say; good. 4/ Midnight Fantasy: Very much like her work with the Spice Girls, only this has a bit more of HER flavour. It's hard to explain. Very good. 5/ I Wish: Great twist on R&B, with some real funky adittude!! GIRL POWER! 6/ Whatcha Talkin' Bout: Another cool song with a lot of adittude, and a bit more of an interestingly subtle groove, whatever you want to make of that statement. 7/ And finally "Every Part Of Me": An endlessly sweet and tear inducing ballad dedicated to her son, Brooklyn and even includes some of his cute vocalizations! If you aren't moved by this one...I don't know?! Though all of the songs on this album are great and fit in in their own way, and show great adittude, I wanted to pick some of the big standouts to give you an idea of the real treat you're in store for if you buy this album. So please do. You surely won't be disappointed. RECOMENDED!! (or did I say that already?)

- This Album Has A Mind of It's Own!!!Victoria Beckham is the last of the Spice Girls to release her solo album offering several multi-genre tracks. After being the voice that no one ever heard in the worlds best selling group, Victoria finally unleashes an album that is superb, showing that she has probably one of the best voices out of all of the members from the Spice Girls. It's a sad lose that Virgin Records dropped her before letting her music reach the US. With this album, Victoria offers great ballads and an abundant load of great danceable, R&B influenced pop songs. Track Highlights 1.) Not Such An Innocent Girl - The beat to this song sounds like it came out of the Destiny's Child vault of beats, but yet it still has it own original sound. This song is dance friendly with its beat and sexual lyrics. This was the first single from Victoria's album and the video for is fantastic. 2.) A Mind Of Its Own - The lyrics to this power ballad are a bit generic and mediocre. However, this song is extremely catchy and the lyrics will grow on you. Victoria's vocals could have been a bit better but this is still a pretty fun track to listen to. This track was good enough to make the cut for Victoria's second single. 3.) That Kind Of Girl - This track is drenched with a mid-tempo R&B beat. This track is somewhat of a ballad but it's a bit faster. The lyrics could be better but they aren't too shabby. Victoria's voice sounds beautiful in this track, I guess she's just "That Kind Of Girl" 4.) Like That - This is an up-tempo track featuring an R&B/Pop beat. This track sounds somewhat reminiscent of the Spice Girl's track "Holler", however, I think this track is more creative. Victoria's vocals have that transformed, robotic like sound when it comes to the chorus but when it's back to the rest of the song her vocals simply sound beautiful. 5.) Girlfriend - This song also features an R&B sound but I think it leans more to the sound of pop. This song is pretty up-tempo and fun to listen to being that it has a great chorus and sexy lyrics. Victoria's vocals are extremely aggressive and confident in this song. 6.) Midnight Fantasy - This track is one of those ballads over a dance beat and with this song it simply works. Victoria's vocals make the lyrics of this song sound so sexual and surreal. 7.) I.O.U. - This song is a beautiful ballad and it's kept pretty simple. I think this is by far the best ballad on this album, not because it has a great beat or that she sounds great but because the lyrics are so true and beautiful. All that you do, Victoria owes it to you. 8.) No Trix, No Games - This track is like that of track four, they sound somewhat similar and the meaning is somewhat the same. I think the chorus to this song could be just a bit more creative but it still sounds pretty good. 9.) I Wish - This song was rumored to be the third single from Victoria's album before Virgin Record's dropped her. This song is definitely worthy of being a single and the chorus sounds so beautiful and catchy. The beat to the song is very Destiny's Child like and the lyrics even sound like them. Victoria's voice sounds fantastic and passionate in this track. 10.) Watcha Talkin' Bout - This track has an R&B sound and the song is a bit mid-tempo. The lyrics to this song are pretty creative and the chorus is pretty catchy as well. 11.) Unconditional Love - This is yet another ballad and both the lyrics and beat sounds pretty generic. The only thing good about this track is that Victoria's voice sounds beautiful. 12.) Every Part Of Me - This ballad has a baby giggling at the beginning of it giving away the fact of this song obviously being dedicated to her child. The lyrics to this track are pretty good but I think this track could have had more of a ballad sound to it. This album shows that Victoria hasn't forgotten her roots from the Spice Girls but yet she is moving forward with her talent. If you want to see Victoria on a different level other than that of the Spice Girls than I suggest you check this album out.

- Very, very surprising - not what you expect!Victoria Beckham has come in with some very personal criticism - ie. she cant sing, dance or write. With her debut album, VB, she proves her critics wrong! This album shows that Posh Spice has talent - yes, she is isnt Whitney Houston, but who cares? This is a decent album that explores pop, garage, dance and rnb with a great deal of sucess. If you've seen or heard her only two releases - Not Such An Innocent Girl and Mind Of Its Own - ignore them, dont take them a representative of the album. They were a mistake. Big mistake - and cost her contract with Virgin. Tracks like the excellent Whatchu Talkin Bout, I Wish (and the remake with Robbie Craig - not featured here unfortunatley), No Trix, No Games and Every Part Of Me are simply superb and show depth to Victoria's style and voice. Sadly, the Truesteppers track - Out Of Your Mind - isnt featured. For those who doubt she cant write - she has the leading credits on 9 of the 12 tracks. For those who say she cant sing, she sucessfully switches from up uptempo club numbers to emotion filled ballads about her family. I believe this is where Victoria stands out and shows originality; how many pop artists write about their love for their family, especially their children? Victoria writes and performs about what means most to her and, even if you cant stand her, you must credit her for this. If you like an album with different styles and attitude and love - this is for you!

- She work's hard for being known for her own musicAfter being ind the background of the Spice Girls, Victoria is the last to release a solo album. I must say that I'm impressed she can write songs and she can sing, although her voice isn't nsomething special, but she remains to keep it clean, only on one song her voice fades a bit ( Unconditional Love ). I was one of the first to buy this album ind Denmark, and I must say that she's really worth the money. The single from this album ( Not Such An Innocent Girl ), is great but my favorites songs is, That Kind Of Girl, Midnight Fantasy, No Trix, No Games and I Wish. On this album Victoria has really done a nice work of mixing, pop/ rock and a lot of Rnb sounds. I Wish when I first heard this songs I thought this must be the latest work from Destiny's Child, but it was Victoria Beckham, I must say she really surprised me. I don't usual listen to pop music, before I bought this album I used to listen to Grace Jones and Tracy Chapman but know I hear Victoria's album all day. Not Such An Innocent Girl: The first single from this album, great vocal and joyable sound. A Mind Of Its Own: A good touching song about love. That Kind Of Girl: Also a great love song. Like That: Great but, not as great as the others. Girlfreind: She also could have called this song: I Want What She's Got. Midnight Fantasy: Uhh a fantastik night loving song, for the lonely ones. I.O.U: I saw her singing live whit this song, I think that this song is deticated to David Beckham. ( No I Know it's made for him ). No Trix & No Games: A great girl power song, this song is really hot stuff. I Wish: A song about a woman who likes a man but she can't tell him HOW SAD. Watcha Talkin'Bout: not really that good. ( Sorry Vicky ) Unconditional Love: Hmmm a lovely song, but her voice is not as clean and clear. Every Part Of Me: Ohhhhhh a song about her lovely boy Brooklyn. At last I would like to say: David your lucky to have this wonderful woman and a beautiful child, treat them good. My respect to Victoria, David and Brooklyn.

- Posh bares her soul! It's been almost 4 years since this CD was released yet its Miss Posh's only one to date...sadly. You see the Brits are jealous of her...VERY jealous...she married David Beckham so no one can blame them yet still their a bit harsh!
Victoria did make another attempt at her solo career in 2003 with Let your head go/This Groove yet apparently hitting #3 is flopping nowadays in the UK *rolls eyes* oh well on to the review!
This CD is the epitome of pop right before it went bad. Ya know when hip hop, rock, and 'punk' all mated and made the bastard child we now know as 'popular music' of 2004 hopefully not 2005. Not only does this CD have the sounds of good ol pop but it also has something a bit more intimate: Victoria's soul.
Now Im still waiting for my copy of 'Learning to fly' to come (I hate you Wal Mart!) but Victoria has said herself in interviews and such that this CD reflects a lot of her, and it shows! Maybe thats why it wasnt as well recieved as other solo Spice projects: If it speaks to me it apparently speaks to no one else in the general populace!
'Victoria Beckham' kicks off with the 'catchy for a short while but then annoying' 'Not such an innocent girl'. It was her first single and I love it and all but ever since I found out it was intended for Willa Ford well...I just...cant...
The next track is the more 'spoken word' 'A mind of its own'. BRILLIANT! Very sweet, vulnerable, and true. 'That kind of girl' kicks off her 'to David haha to rest of you cuz I have him' songs. Its really sweet none the less...the type of sweet ballad that could end a good romance comedy movie.
'Like that' goes back to the 'Not such an innocent girl' vibe and like the first its nice but gets old quickly...its never spoken to me...maybe it will someday. 'Girlfriend' finally gets the 'fast song' vibe and does it RIGHT i.e. you dont tire of it. The only problem here is it goes along the lines of the Spice Girl's 'Weekened Love' i.e. its great BUT the lyrics make no freakin sense what so ever! One minute she's saying 'look dont be calling me cuz you find my # thats his fault not mine' THEN she tries to say 'sorry he wants me BACK' insinuating that she had him before...listen to the song its kinda puzzling...but still enjoyable and catty which well just makes it brilliant!
'Midnight fantasy' is one of the faster tracks before the 'this is me' songs kick in. Nice and very 'Girlfriend' but less confusing. 'I.O.U.' is one of the better tracks on the whole CD! Its so sweet...honestly if your very bitter this CD is hard to listen to at times.
'No trix no games' gives us a small interlude of fastness before they slow it down again *yet* it stays with the 'this is me' vibe. It tells of a girl who may hide herself to the world and usually does to men too but to this certain love she wont...
'I wish' is one of the more meainful songs. This one has the confusing 'Girlfriend' problem...either this girl in the song is a tease or shes just like me and scared out of her wits of men...either way it could confuse the normaler people of the world.
'Whatchu talkin bout' is rumored to be written about Miss Ginger Spice though thats never been confirmed...listen to it the song does scream 'BETRAYER SOCIAL CLIMBER WANNABE!'
'Unconditional Love' is much like 'I.O.U.' in the sappy true to self songs area. So sweet! A hard song to listen to when bitter or hurt though...
'Every part of me' is a song dedicated to her then only son (shes pregnant with her 3rd now) Brooklyn. Sweet but eh boring way to end a 'true to me' fanatastic pop CD.
Overall a great millenuim pop piece and a great CD for the little odd girls everywhere! Maybe we're not so odd afterall...after all one of us snagged David Beckham...mmm...
