Dew Drop Inn style. On the Dew Drop Inn tour, in support of Boys for Pele, Tori reinvented this ballad to her self-destructive friend as a fierce testament to the frustration of being unable to salvage someone from an unhealthy influence, here a toxic relationship. She cut verses, boosted the tempo, transported it to harpsichord, altered the dynamic, added chords, changed phrases, and improvved liberally. I did my best to do replicate the drama, but in my green plaid shirt and messy hair, I know I don't have either the presence or gravitas of Tori Amos. :-) -BPK
