- The DRG YearsThis compilation includes material from the two 1970s albums Tony Bennett recorded for DRG records. "The Special Magic of Tony Bennett" receives most of the space. A truly special album with lush orchestral arrangements by Torrie Zito, "Special Magic" features the wonderful Cole Porter medley- heard here, and alone worth the price of the disc. The Rodgers and Hart album, which receives less representation on this disc, features a jazz quartet led by Ruby Braff. The song choices and the singing are excellent, and it is interesting to hear songs from two such different albums played side by side, however, the original albums have been reissued individually in their entirety, and the extra investment required would be well worth it.
