- Every track a gem!I never disliked Tony Bennett, but I was never a big fan - until I heard this album! It's a personal fave of Bennett's, and his love for the material is evident on every track. Worth the price for "Over The Rainbow" alone, and not many singers have the chops to face down Judy on that one! Out-of-print?! Insane! Let's reissue with bonus tracks, please, Mr. BMG/Sony?

- Essential Tony BennettCurrently there is a release titled THE ESSENTIAL TONY BENNETT. And that is a swell one too. But this SINGS A STRING OF HAROLD ARLEN is something very special. I originally owned it on LP years ago, and wore out a couple of copies. Any time I find a copy now I buy it and keep it to give as a gift. Each song is an absolute gem. Some of them are rare Harold Arlen beauties such as FOR EVERY MAN THERE'S A WOMAN, which no one else seems to have rediscovered. This is peak Bennett from the 1950s -- and for anyone who enjoys him and cherishes great songs it's essential. It belongs on your shelf along with other TB treasures such as his pair of albums with Bill Evans, his WHEN LIGHTS ARE LOW and the MOVIE SONG ALBUM. Gold never came so cheaply. Andrew Velez

- music at it's bestI have been a Tony Bennett fan since the early 1950's - I have most of his albums with all the his big commercial hits -however, this particular album I listen to most often - It is a beautiful combination of a great songwriter and a great interpretor of songs making for a most pleasurable listening experience

- A MASTERWORKI agree with the reviewer who asked why this album isn't being re-issued.
But I don't think it needs bonus tracks. In fact, I hope it would be just these original selections. It's another lesson from the master on how to sing great songs from one of the great songwriters. Tony still shines when he does the classics, but here in his prime with great arrangements and orchestration the effect on the listener is one of total immersion in the music, words and voice. WOW
Please reissue this! Please!
