Red Light Special was the second single from TLC's 1994 album CrazySexyCool.

The video was released some time in February 1995.

This song marked a change for tlc. They weren't foreigners to ballads, but they had never done a sexual ballad up until this point. Well, you could count Baby, Baby, Baby as a sort of sexual ballad but I don't (it's too uptempo). Anyway, while Red...is not one of my favorite tlc jams, it is good. It has good, poignant lyrics. And they definitely get their point across without being too explicit. The most explicit lines are "I'll let you touch it if you'd like to go d/own. I'll let you go further if you take the southern route." And of course the "take off my clothes" bit.
