Crossing Border is het festival waar de combinatie literatuur, muziek, film en beeldende kunst centraal staat. Van woensdag 18 tot zaterdag 21 november heerst Crossing Border in en rondom het Toneelkwartier in Den Haag.
Naast grote namen uit de internationale literatuur- en muziekwereld wordt er veel aandacht gegeven aan (nu nog) onbekende namen. De nadruk wordt gelegd op het tonen van nieuwe ontwikkelingen binnen de literatuur en muziek en op de relatie met andere kunstdisciplines.

Konsertern presenteras i samarbete med Kulturbolaget.
Tegan och hennes sisådär åtta minuter yngre syster Sara har gått från klarhet till klarhet med varje skivsläpp sedan debuten för snart tio år sedan och är idag ett rutinerat och mer melodiöst indierockband. De började tidigt repa hemma i sovrummet i Calgary, startade så småningom ”Sara and Tegan”, bytte namn till ”Tegan and Sara” och fick skivkontrakt av ingen mindre än Neil Young. Sedan dess har de släppt fem album och turnerat med bland annat Rufus Wainwright, The Killers, Weezer och Ryan Adams.
Förra plattan ”The Con” producerades av Jason och Chris från Death Cab For Cutie. En rakt igenom fantastisk skiva som gav dem något av ett genombrott i Sverige. Turnén tog dem då till KB i Malmö där de spelade i en utsåld lokal.
Drygt två senare är den kanadensiska syskonduon Tegan and Sara redo för nya skivan "Sainthood" som släpps i slutet av oktober. En månad senare besöker de nu oss i Lund för en konsert på Mejeriet.

De har et helt nyt album med sig, når den canadiske søster-duo bag radiohittet ”Back In Your Head” gæster Lille VEGA.
Den populære indierock-duo, der består af søstrene Tegan og Sara Quin, er netop ved at færdiggøre deres sjette studiealbum, der har fået titlen Sainthood og efter planen udkommer 27. oktober.
Duoens forrige album, The Con, indeholdt den medrivende single ”Back In Your Head”, der blev et internationalt radiohit, der også herhjemme fik rigtig meget airplay.
Tegan and Sara har faktisk opnået så meget anerkendelse at The White Stripes har udgivet en coverversion af nummeret ”Walking With a Ghost”, og dance-dj og producer Tiësto har lavet et remix af ”Back In Your Head”.
Den 22. november har man mulighed for at opleve indierockens svar på CocoRosie, når Tegan and Sara er klar til at præsentere deres nye materiale.

After two sold-out shows in 2007, Tegan and Sara will return to Halifax to perform in support of their upcoming album Sainthood (Sire Records) at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium on Wednesday, January 27 at 8 p.m. Special guest is An Horse.
In stores October 27, Sainthood, Tegan and Sara’s sixth release was recorded at Sound City in Los Angeles and Two Sticks in Seattle. The album’s 13 tracks were produced by Chris Walla (Death Cab for Cutie) and Howard Redekopp (The New Pornographers, Two Hours Traffic) and mixed by Dave Sardy (Oasis, Primal Scream, Marilyn Manson). The album, named after a Leonard Cohen lyric, addresses secular themes of devotion, delusion, and exemplary behaviour in the pursuit of love and relationships.
Since their debut in 1999 with Under Feet Like Ours, twins Tegan and Sara Quin have released five albums, including The Business of Art (2000), If It Was You (2002), So Jealous (2004) and The Con (2007) and received three JUNO Award nominations, including 2007 and 2005 Alternative Album of the Year and 2006 Music DVD of the Year. They have toured with Neil Young, The Pretenders, Ryan Adams The Killers and Death Cab for Cutie and performed at major international festivals, including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits.
