Description :
Japanese edition of the contemporary Christian singer/songwriter's 2001 EP features 8 tracks including 2 bonus tracks, 'The Christmas Song' & 'What Are You Doing New Year's Eve'. Slipcase. Copy Control CD. 2003.Review - Amazon.com :
Hey, who dropped the beat box in the eggnog? OK, maybe it's not that dramatic, but Stacie Orrico wants to spruce up some old Yuletide standards with a little dance-floor spice. The smart and sassy "Love Came Down" and the modern, funky reading of "O Holy Night" give this Christmas Wish a very nontraditional sound. When she's not trying to play diva by touching as many notes as possible in one song, Orrico comes across convincingly in tracks like the smooth "What Child Is This" and "O Come All Ye Faithful." Young fans will no doubt snatch this release up, while more seasoned listeners may want to prepare themselves for something a little different. --Michael LyttleCustomer review - 2003-04-19
- The best Christmas album ever!Okay, first off let me say that I bought this cd in the middle of March and have been listening to it every day even though it's nowhere near Christmas. This album is remarkable! Stacie is my favorite artist no doubt about it. This cd has the perfect blend of pop/urban/r&b/traditional Christmas music. One of my favorites is O Holy Night but I love all of the songs equally. They're each unique in their own way. This album is a great twist on traditional Christmas and Stacie's mature, strong vocals only make it better!

- We loved it!!Find myself singing the first cut..."do do-do-do-do do do do..." from "Love Came Down" (not too loud--not cool in front of my daughter--it's her CD)!! Sure feels like Christmas to me! Stacie is such a doll! (From a 35-year-old mom of an 11-year-old who loves Stacie's music.) We saw her sing live at Legoland in California last summer, and she has an AMAZING voice. What a talented young lady--the Lord has surely gifted her, and she uses it to His glory. O Holy Night is one of my favorite Christmas songs of all time..the lyrics really bring out the true reason the Son of God came..."long lay the world in sin and error pining...'til He appeared and the soul felt it's worth"...Her heavy R&B version--honestly--took a little time to grow on me--and I grew up on R&B--Qunicy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Prince kind of stuff-- but I love how she thinks and does her music "outside the box"--very fresh and different...something Christmas songs need!

- Stacie Orrico - Christmas WishFirst off I want to say that I love Stacie Orrico and I think she is very talented. However her mix of urban beats that take from her debut album "Don't Look at Me" just don't mix with the traditional Christmas songs(Oh Holy Night, What Child is this, Oh come ye Faithfull). Vocally its very impressive Stacies voice gracefully and masterfully floats over each song with ease and skill beyond her years, her voice is rich, sweet, and smooth perfect for Christmas music. The original Christmas songs(Love Came Down and Christmas Wish)here are good. However instrumentally is where this CD fails. It fails to bring in the Christmas spirit. It would have been nice if they used some guitar or strings in here somewhere. But the one song that will bring Christmas cheer and past memories would be "White Christmas" which for this CD being so cheap is worth buying it just for that alone. I was a little bit disapointed. But still pretty good, but if you are looking for a more traditional sound I'd go for Charlotte Churches "Dream a Dream". So *enjoy* Stacie Orrico's "Christmas Wish" you may like it alot!!! God Bless ~Amy

- Great Contemporary Christmas MusicStacie puts her own pop/R&B spin on a host of holiday classics and two original tracks ("Love Came Down" & "Christmas Wish"). The import version adds two tracks to the original 2001 Christmas Wish release - a soulful reading of the much-beloved "The Christmas Song" and a bluesy rendition of "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve". Both tracks feature excellent production by the Underdogs who worked on "(there's gotta be) More To Life" and "I Promise" on Stacie's self-titled CD. Some people dislike the untraditional feel of the disc, but Stacie really makes the songs her own. Her up-tempo rendition of "What Child Is This" (backed with R&B beats) would be right at home on any Top 40 playlists. In this case, Stacie's innovation works wonderfully. All in all, an excellent addition to any holiday album collection. The tracks on the album are: * Love Came Down * Christmas Wish * O Holy Night * What Child Is This * O Come All Ye Faithful * White Christmas * The Christmas Song * What Are You Doing New Year's Eve

- Very modern, very goodThis CD really shows what a talented singer Stacie is. It's a very, very modern Christmas album and very creative. Michael W. Smith helped produce it and you can tell that Stacie worked extremely hard on this. It's kind of short, but the songs never grow old. "Christmas Wish" will make you cry and "Love Came Down" will make you dance. This CD has everything and I would definitely recommend it to any Stacie Orrico fans.
