- The missing CD
I have this album on vinyl and love it. But I have had it on my wishlist hoping to get it on cd. Is it available or not? Why is it so difficult to locate? The album is comprised mainly of Motown ballards done ala Smokey. Very romantic and vert soothing.

- Searched Forever!!
I absolutly love this album. It's been in my vinyl collection since it's release. Love it so much, I owned it on eight track, cassette, and now on CD. Soothes the sole, warms the heart, relaxes the mind. I was so glad to have finally found it on Amazon. I'm searching for: A Pocket Full of Miracles also. It is of the same quality.

- ONE OF THE MIRACLES' ALL-TIME BEST !!!
The MIRACLES' What Love Has....Joined Together is BY FAR their rarest album on CD. It was first released on vinyl back in 1970....and was one of the very first "concept albums".It became a very popular staple at weddings and features some of the VERY BEST performances the group has ever done !! I remember that they appeared on a 1970 telecast of NBC's "The Andy Wiliams Show" that year,on the album's initial release, and sang a medley of this album's songs.... and I still have that performance on video. The title cut , written by Miracles members Smokey Robinson and Bobby Rogers ,simply BLOWS AWAY alternate versions by The Temptations and Mary Wells (although I still like those versions a lot ).I later found that THE MIRACLES actually were the FIRST TO RECORD THE SONG 'way back in 1962....so they re- recorded it in a special extended version for this album ,8 years later.
The unique thing about this album is that MOTOWN never released any singles from it. A highly unusual move from a company whose main sales volume came from 45 rpm singles....once a staple of the industry.
The album features some of THE MIRACLES' ALL-TIME BEST vocal performances! Without the pressure of having to make some hot dance single releases to come off the album, you can see that extra care was taken in the making of each track...with rich, lush orchestration on each song. This album was actually the forerunner of SMOKEY'S landmark "QUIET STORM" album of just a few years later. Abandoning the standard "12 songs per album" rule ,Smokey, as the album's producer, decided to make each track an extended-length song . THE MIRACLES broke A LOT OF RULES with this album...which probably explains why it passed under the radar screen back in 1970.
Despite this, the album still reached the Top 10 of Billboard's R&B album chart....but only # 97 on its Top 200 Pop album chart. But those who bought it back then were very glad that they did : Beautiful lead vocals by SMOKEY, augmented by one of the most UNDER-RATED voices in music ... the gorgeous voice of his then-wife,CLAUDETTE, who, by the way, had never really left the MIRACLES...in fact, she's actually pictured on the back cover of the album. It's a downright shame that MOTOWN didn't feature her more (although she did sing lead on several MIRACLES album cuts in the group's early days . Her cousin, BOBBY ROGERS, along with RONNIE WHITE and PETE MOORE never sounded better...You simply CAN'T TOP The Miracles on ballad singing...and this album features their best. Last, but not least ,original Miracles member MARV TARPLIN (who also never really left The Miracles either, but was never featured on any album covers after 1963), showed why he is one of the BEST guitarists in the music industry, even today. His soft riffs on each song accompany the vocals PERFECTLY...AND MAKE FOR A TRULY BEAUTIFUL (there's that word again) listening experience.
This album features several songs written by noted composers: MARVIN GAYE,(IF THIS WORLD WERE MINE) Motown artist BRENDA HOLLOWAY ( who recorded the ORIGINAL version of "YOU'VE MADE ME SO VERY HAPPY" , NOT BLOOD , SWEAT, AND TEARS) and her sister PATRICE, BERRY GORDY,FRANK WILSON, LENNON & McCARTNEY,(AND I LOVE HER) BACHARACH & DAVID (THIS GUY'S IN LOVE WITH YOU), and STEVIE WONDER (MY CHERIE AMOUR)... and all of the songs were major hits by other artists....done MIRACLES STYLE.
WHAT LOVE HAS...JOINED TOGETHER was re-released on record 22 years later, in 1992...along with a companion CD release...it is now out of print on CD and has never been released since....Those who have it are very reluctant to part with it, and those do demand prices well exceeding 100.00 to 200.00 for the privilege. It is BY FAR,the RAREST MIRACLES album ever released on CD...and it is unknown whether MOTOWN will ever re-release it.
It's worth every penny.
