- OOO BABY BABY~CLASSIC SMOKEY & THE MIRACLES!!!Smokey Robinson is one of the greatest singer/songwriters to come out of the classic Motown era and continues to this day to thrill audiences with his classic songs and soulful voice!!! For fans of this era or anyone who wants to experience the best from Smokey's legendary period, this two-fer offers two of Smokey Robinson & the Miracles albums from the great musical sixties. "Ooo Baby Baby" is a gorgeous classic with Smokey at his soulful peak along with the magnificent "Tracks Of My Tears" which is at the head of the list of great Smokey masterworks! When these original songs were released they were unlike anything ever and had a huge impact on everyone who loved romantic and soulful music. Smokey could rock out as demonstrated in the cooking stomper "Going To A Go-Go" which was a sixties party favorite. Smokey focused on hauntingly beautiful and romantic ballads and this collection has some of his best such as "My Girl Has Gone" and "The Love I Saw In You Was Just A Mirage" which were both R&B hit singles. Huge success came again with "More Love" which features Smokey as his passionate best on a blockbuster hit that was so great that it became a hit all over again years later by Kim Carnes! Another mega-hit featured is the uniquely magical "The Tears Of A Clown" which shows again why Smokey is a legend!!! Grab this collection if you want to enjoy a supremely talented singer/songwriter while still with his great group whom are all at their soulful and artistic peak!!! Thank You Smokey Robinson & the Miracles for all the years of great music and keep the music flowing Smokey!!!!!

- My smile looks out of placeThis CD contains two albums by the Miracles. Going To a Go-Go was originally released in 1965. The Tears of a Clown was originally released in 1967 under the title Make It Happen, then it was rereleased under the title The Tears of a Clown in 1970, after "The Tears of a Clown" became a hit that year. These are typical Motown albums of the era, in that they contain a few hit songs and a lot of filler. Going to a Go-Go actually features more hits than usual, with four Top 20 hits ("Ooo Baby Baby", "The Tracks of My Tears", "My Girl Has Gone" and "Going to a Go-Go"). The Tears of a Clown has three hit songs ("The Tears of a Clown", "The Love I Saw in You Was Just a Mirage" and "More Love"). The non-hit songs here are nothing special, for the most part. The best of the rest are probably "Choosey Beggar" and "The Soulful Shack". Should be of interest to Motown fans.
