Review - Amazon.com :
Growing up in her family band in Missouri, Sara Evans learned two valuable lessons: always imbue a song with palpable emotion, and quickly change directions if a number tends to flop. Both rules have kept Evans in the big leagues the last 10 years. If she’s moved more squarely into the mainstream during this time, her adenoidal delivery and "Show Me State"-twang keeps her down on the farm, and she has not forgotten where she came from, as the irresistible hoedown head-bobber "Suds in the Bucket" proves. Evans has a tendency to wear rose-colored glasses when looking to the romantic horizon ("No Place That Far"), but it works in her favor on "As If," a bouncy, rockin’ hormone rush in the advent of new love. The first of four new songs, "As If" is a perfect "starting over" tune in the wake of her messy 2006 divorce. "Love You With All My Heart" and "Pray for You" echo the new-beginnings theme. If "Some Things Never Change" seems a tired nod to routine family values, Evans apparently remembers a third lesson from her family-band days: Playing it safe will never get you kicked off the stage. --Alanna Nash

- A GREAT compilation
Now this is a true Greatest Hits. Sara captured our hearts 10 years ago and now she rewards us with a flawless GH cd. All the hits are here: "No Place That Far", "Born To Fly", "Suds In The Bucket", "A Real Fine Place To Start", "I Could Not Ask For More" and many more. The four brand new songs are excellent too. "As If" is a fun upbeat song with feel-good energy. "Pray For You" is such a sweet, touching song. "Some Things Never Change" is a mid-tempo song and it has the potential to be a radio hit. "Love You With All Of My Heart" is another fun song that would also fare well on radio. I've been a Sara fan for many years because she never disappoints. Her voice is fantastic, her song choices are impeccable and she always delivers flawless cds. I would highly recommend this cd. Any fan, whether country, country-pop or traditional, will appreciate this effort. Good job Sara!

- A real fine place to start, but. . .
It's hard to argue the logic of the song choices here; all of the previously-released ones were hits. But I do agree that FOUR new songs is a bit much, when there are other, admittedly less-successful singles that could have been included. For a casual fan, this single disc compilation will probably do just fine.

BUT, if you really like these songs, you should go ahead and get Sara's entire catalogue. Three Chords and the Truth, her debut, is probably the most underrated country album of the past decade. And there were a few singles, even if they weren't big hits. It is her most traditional-sounding country disc, although she certainly achieved more success with crossover material like "Perfect" and "Born to Fly."

And even though I have all five of her albums, I picked this one up for the new songs. And because Sara Evans remaains one of the brightest stars in today's music--country or otherwise.

- Good "GH" selection
Somebody above complained that "Three Chords & The Truth", "Crying Game",& "Backseat Of A Greyhound Bus" should have been included- but since those songs charted at 44th, 56th, and 16th on the country charts, that means they weren't Sara's 'greatest hits', and thus weren't included.

The four new songs- "As If", "Love You With All My Heart", "Pray For You", and "Some Things Never Change" are good. I can see "As If" going top ten.

Album photography is very nice as well.

- Greatest Hits?
I love the voice of Sara Evans, and her songs are among the best of modern country. That said, I have a problem with this release. My definition of a Greatest Hits CD is one that includes only the best songs from previously released CDs. In this case, not a single song from her debut CD (Three Cords and the Truth) was included. Considering that she wrote 7 of the 11 songs on that release, I find it hard to believe that she did not consider any of them one of her best. She had 59 songs to choose from her previous CDs, but only chose 10. While the 10 chosen are quite good, I would have preferred four more from past releases. I suppose the point is to encourage fans that already own the previous CDs to purchase the Greatest Hits CD as well. It is incredible arrogance (or simply greed) to include four new songs on a greatest hits CD. Those songs should have been included on her next release. If they stand the test of time, put one or more on a Greatest Hits Vol. II.

- Almost, but not quite all of the hits
I would've like to have seen, Cryin' Game, These Days, and Backseat of a Greyhound Bus included on this collection. I'm all for 1 or 2 new songs
on a greatest hits package, but there are four (4) here.
Two of them could've went on the next studio album
to make room for some of the older songs.
A Greatest Hits package should be exactly that, "Greatest Hits".
