Ryan Adams (born David Ryan Adams on November 5, 1974) is an alt-country and rock and roll singer-songwriter from Jacksonville, North Carolina. Adams dropped out of high school at age 16 to work in a shoe shop and make music. He formed a band named Whiskeytown in 1994; they disbanded in 1999 having released two full albums, Faithless Street and Strangers Almanac. Adams went on to put out his first solo record, Heartbreaker, in 2000. After a long delay, in 2001 Whiskeytown's third album Pneumonia was finally issued. |

Not only is the 25-year-old singer-actress continuing to leave her bubble-gum pop beginnings behind with a '70s singer-songwriter- inspired album, Amanda Leigh -- in stores Tuesday -- but she surprised many with a recent marriage to critically acclaimed alt-country rocker Ryan Adams, 34, in a low-key ceremony in Savannah, Ga., in March.

Ryan Adams has released a book of poems - it's called Infinity Blues . It is horrific! Adams is not known for his filter - 11 albums in eight years - and while people can praise his honest, direct approach to lyrics with songs like Come Pick Me Up and Oh My Sweet Carolina , those same people better have their filter on when sorting through this rubbish.

Background/ Composition: This talented troubadour is Canada's answer to Ryan Adams. He also recalls the likes of Jesse Mallin and Steve Earle, but with his own brand of punk and folk-rock. He fronted a tight outfit dubbed the Wildflowers.
