Roots Manuva, born Rodney Smith is a British artist, who mixes with and as well as , and even some . He grew up around Stockwell in South London. His parents were from a small village in Jamaica called Banana Hole where his father was a preacher and tailor. Spending much of his early years in poverty, this and his strict Pentecostal upbringing clearly had an influence on his music as can be seen in many of his tracks such as "Sinny Sin Sins" and "Colossal Insight".

Location: Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park After a triumphant debut in 2009, boutique festival Days Like This! returns to Sydney in the early days of 2010 with another illustrious line-up. The mix of genres that made the inaugural edition so special will again be on full display – with hip hop, electronica, indie-rock, roots and plenty more spread across the four stages. Heading the bill this time is none other than Roots Manuva, in his first visit since 2006. The Londoner with a gift for wordplay released his sixth album Slime & Reason this year, and he’s a proven live performer. Prolific chanteuse Cat Power will lead her band Dirty Delta Blues, with Detroit soul man Amp Fiddler and homegrown festival favourites The Cat Empire also on board. Just as it in 2009, the line-up runs deep – hip hop veterans Dilated Peoples, New Zealand dub collective The Black Seeds, local lights Pivot and a whole lot more.
