Análisis (en inglés) - Amazon.com :
Rod Stewart may yet have the last laugh on those who have accused him of selling out one of rock's great vocal talents. After all, Rod the Mod has matured rather gracefully into a pop singer while many of his rooster-haired contemporaries seem trapped in '70s rock-drag caricature. If Stewart's ongoing sense of musical curiosity was confirmed by his surprising collection of '90s U.K. rock covers (1998's When We Were the New Boys), this album seems more bent on career reinforcement. Helmed by executive producer Rob Dickins, a lineup of production pros (including Mark Taylor and Brian Rawlings, the team behind Cher's Believe) keeps the sound polished, yet warm and spacious. Stewart takes on a mature, reflective slate of songs by an array of contemporary writers (including Macy Gray) and a strong cover of Curtis Mayfield's "It Was Love That We Needed." The album also features a handful of guest stars (including guitarists Slash and Mark Knopfler) and a surprising, playful duet with contemporary stylist/Dickins protégé Helicopter Girl on "Don't Come Around Here." --Jerry McCulley Análisis de usuario (en inglés) - 2001-02-07
- Gotta Love Rod !!!That Voice- That Style- That Charisma. Rod has one of the most unusual voices in the industry. The fact that he is still around belting out the tunes is proof that the man is doing something right. This CD is so chock full of great songs. Some deep, some light but most of all just right. The single, "I can't deny it", just grows on you and your are snapping your fingers and doing a little shutterbug around the house. If you love the sounds of Maggie May and some of his older works, then you will like this CD because it's modern yet still very much Rod without all the extra mumbo jumbo to cloud over his voice. I rank this right up there with one of the must have CD's for the year. It's on the heavy rotation along with Sade and David Grey. Get this, you won't be sorry !!

- We Miss the Old RodI have grown up listening to Rod since the early-mid seventies. His unique style and vocals sets him apart from all the rest. There have been great songs on every album, although bashed from critics, and I found that his best songs were the non-commercial stuff found in every album......which makes me wonder who and how do they pick which singles to release!! Rod's last album When We Were the New Boys was a fantastic album. It was a true reflection of what Rod is all about....a mix of great ballads, along with guitar-bashing songs and fast-tempo melodic songs. I have yet to understand how they could have not released the title track as a single......Human is not how I portray my idle...I love tracks written by Rod himself. I hope this isn't the beginning of the end. Although his talent still shines on this album, Rod's claim-to-fame remains the party-type bedroom rocker that can deliver songs that get to the heart. Rod, I'll give you this one but, let's get back to what you are best at.

- Mellow is not always badI am pleased I did not listen to the people who claimed this cd was not worth it. I have been a fan for near 30 years...I was 8 when I got my first Rod Album....and although he has put out some that I did not care for...this is Not one of them. This CD is excellent.

- Beautiful CDI hesitated to buy this CD. I have been a Rod Fan for many years, since I first heard him on the radio in the 70's. After seeing him for the fourth time in concert a couple of weeks ago, he didn't sing one song from the CD even though it was called the Human Tour. I went out and bought it a few days ago. I saved the receipt and thought about returning it. I am glad I didn't. I popped it in the CD player today and was shocked at how beautiful it is. It's a little different from his usual style but variety can be good. If you love romantic songs and Rod Stewart. Buy this, you will enjoy it.
