They’ll be doing it in the Red Dirt. But don’t worry, it’ll be for a good cause. Six acts — that’s headline group the Randy Rogers Band along with Casey Donahew, Josh Abbott, Charla Corn, Brazos Stone and Crosswind — will be churning out some electrified twang for Shrinefest, the Red Dirt festival that in 2008 attracted some 8,000 fans of the genre.

ALMA -- When a new music festival debuts next month in a pasture northeast of Alma, its bands will deposit a load of red-dirt music on the Flint Hills. The Sept. 18-19 Flint Hills Music Festival just north of Interstate 70 on Wabaunsee Road will feature 11 groups, including two Academy of Country Music Awards nominees as headliners: the Randy Rogers Band and the Eli Young Band. read more
