- A 'Best Of' Remix

This CD features an incredible 11 minute track that mixes together many, many Prince hit songs to form a perfect jam session that's great for parties or working out. If 11 minutes is a bit too long for you, well then there is an edited version as well. The final track takes the same approach but uses his lesser hits and B sides. Fantastic! Makes a great companion to the 3 disc collection 'The Hits/The B Sides'!

- Rhythmic Beats Galore!

A myriad of rythmic beats confined to only a mere 11 minutes. Although not expertly mixed it does give you an insight into the truly prodigous talent that Prince possesses, seemingly at will. For long term fans you can have a go at deciding which order you would rather have the songs in...and forever debate, probably at a purple table!

For new fans...just sit back & enjoy, as this remix covers one of Prince's most productive era's. They played this remix at his Live Tours at Wembley, London and the crowd went insane...and also quiet...in line with the mood of the tracks that this remix includes.

A very quick way to listen to a cross section of his music. A shorter track 2 cuts out some of the longer guitar riffs that he likes to do, but will be to the liking of less "die hard" Prince fans. A bargain that should entice you to buy more of his music as he is as diverse and unique a musical talent of his generation, playing ALL the instruments, producing the beats & singing.

What are you waiting 4?

- Worth it, 5 Stars!

Prince listeners seem to require instant gratification whenever we hear Prince songs mixed or edited. This mix doesn't give you that, it demands more than one listen, and after listening to the disc all the way through 10 or 11 times, it became clear to me this is relatively amazing. Worth every penny.

- It's called Purple Medley for a reason!

Many people complain "It's just a bunch of old songs to new music" Or "Don't expect anything new with this single", but what most fail to realize is this is the era where "The Artist" buried "Prince". It's like a funeral(tribute) for all the Warner song that he did. It's a true gift to have because this was during the battle between him and the record company. Just watch the video and you'll see him burying Prince in the ground at the end, then it will make perfect sense. By the way the beat is awesome.

- Disappointed but yet surprised

When this very first came out I was under the impression that he was releasing an entire full length album compiled of ALL of his hits totally and completly remixed to todays (or then) standards. I had searched and asked every record store in search of this only to find out that it was only a maxi single of a medley. Man!! Was I bummed out!!! Even though there is many many CDs out there that have many various mixes on them, mainly bootlegs, It would have been a major surprise. The mega mix medley is cool in every way and I wished it was also a bit longer than 11 mins. The video for it is even better! This is a must have though for your Prince collection.
