Description :
Pimp C is the production and game spitting half of UGK, the 2nd hottest group to ever come out the lone star state of Texas. With platinum and gold plaques for Riding Dirty and Dirty Money it was only a matter of time before solo projects would come.Customer review - 2006-04-12
- People, COOOOME ON!!!!!!!! This Sucks!!!I can't believe this CD is overall rated at 4 and 1/2 stars! Are you people listening to the same album I am!?!? This album is ASS, Complete Garbage!!
This moronic, idiotic nonsense was released while Pimp C was still locked up. In an interview with The Source Magazine a couple months ago, Pimp C (and Bun B as well) revealed that he was very appreciative of the love and support he received from the people while he was locked up, but now that he's out, UGK was going to confront some people who were making money off of the whole 'Free Pimp C' campaign that was going on. (I know there were a lot of people profiting from the campaign with the notion in mind that since he's locked up, he wouldn't be able to do much legally.)
Now that Sweet Jones is out and is hard at work on the next UGK everyone's craving, he may want to consider talking to the people who were responsible for putting this trash out through Rap-A-Lot. I know C and J. Prince are homeboys but Pimp couldn't have been serious when this dropped: this is either Pimp C at his worst (which there is NO SUCH THING) or someone swindling the man's music. I opt for the latter.
Including "Isa Playa" (feat. Z-Ro on the hook), there's only about two or at the most three songs (out of fourteen) that knock; the rest are either mediocre or just plain suck. And c'mon!! Track 10 is just ridiculous. The producer basically lifts the entire track from Chuck Brown's "Bustin Loose" as Pimp superimposes his version over the music: "Young Prostitute". You've got to be kidding me - Pimp singing on the chorus "I need a prostitute," is just ignorant trash and dreadful music if you want to call that music. Pimp C couldn't have signed off on that track to be released.
This album is appalling and denigrates the talent of Pimp C; J. Prince and Co. at Rap-A-Lot should be utterly ASHAMED of themselves. But, the people spoke when this dropped: I know not one person with this CD, and copies of this blunder of an album are sparse and "few and far in between." Thank goodness Pimp is out; we'll get some quality music from him!

- I'm A Hogg In The Game...I Got The Wettest AroundPimp C is indeed a legend in the south and after his incarceration a couple years back you just knew that a real solo album was on the way. Pimp C, one half of legendary duo UGK, drops his first solo album The Sweet James Jones Stories. He delivers on all aspects on this album. His lyrics are as playalistic and vulgar as they've ever been as he spits that game on women, cars, hustlin, mackin, bustin heads...all that pimp shhiiit. Even though these are not new verses they sound like it ( If you have the Live From Harris County Jail cd then you will recognize some of the lyrics.) The new beats are outstanding. Songs such as Hogg In The Game, Comin Up (Lil Flip drops a hot verse amazingly), Isa Playa, I Gotta Thang, I Know U Strapped, Everytime, and Slow Down are amazing songs that can only be brought to you by Pimp C. Indeed the whole album is bangin but there are two songs that I skip sometimes and they are Young Prostitute and 10 A Key. But the album definitely has lots of replay value and your hour will be well spent. Before you know it...you're playin the cd on repeat...never leaving the changer ( it hasn't been out of mine since it was released). Nonetheless, you should go out and buy the album and support Pimp C, a legend in the south. A Must have. 5 Stars. ****Bun B - Trill in stores soon!!!****

- Best Release Of 05I've been knockin' this one for about 3 weeks straight. The beats on here are so cold it doesn't even matter that most ofthe rhymes on here are recycled. Till Common or Kanye's new joints drop this is as good as it gets in 05. Free Pimp C!!!!

- Good solo debut from one of the finest of the South - R.I.P.One half of one of the best rap groups from the south (in the top 3 if you ask me) delivers a solid solo debut after being in the rap game for 13 years, and in jail the past 3 or so. It has 14 tracks and 15 songs (#2 is 2 different songs) and guests are on 6 of the songs so you get a lot of Pimp C. I did expect a better album since it was the first new UGK related material I heard in almost 4 years and its on one of my favorite labels, Rap-A-Lot, but it still is a good album. Prodcution is by 8 different people and Pimp C did no songs as he was in jail. Mike Dean did 4, Mr. Lee did 3, DJ DMD and Dani Kartel did 2 each, and N.O. Joe, John B... and Wendell Springer all did 1. It has 1 Classic, 1 near classics, 2 I skip, 4 ok songs, and the other 7 are good. A good album to have for UGK and southern rap fans.
