- San Francicso's Adopted SonThis CD was first released 20 years after the first 'Alive' recording of 1976. It was a single disk in America (Where it was almost ignored by the Masses). But an Asian/Austrailian version was the two disk Set, that is now Released as this the: "Deluxe Version".
This is a fine bookend to the original: "Frampton Comes Alive". "Alive 2" features the same spirit of one of the seventies biggest talents and continues the story where the original release ends with more fine songs and the great playing of Peter and his band: John Regan-bass guitar & vocals... JR Robinson-drums... and the late, great Bob Mayo-keyboards, guitars & vocals. There are some great songs: "Day in the Sun". "For Now", "You", "Can't Take That Away" and "Off The Hook". Peter's big hit: "I'm In You" is here as well, and as i have found with all of Frampton's tunes, I prefer this live version over the studio edition, as the whole reason for the "Alive' tag is how these songs become bigger & better on stage. Peter's playing and performance has gotten better after thousands of nights on stages such as these, and this is the proof.
The second disk features the most popular songs from the 1976 record: "Show Me the Way", "Baby, I Love Your Way", "Lines on my Face" & "Do You Feel Like We Do".
Peter, is still out there as I scribe this in 2007, still releasing great music and still making the girl's scream at sold-out concert's around the world... SHINE ON!
FIVE STARS !!!

- A Real Gem!!!!from beginning to end, this CD is a classic gem! It's rare to find a CD that you can play from beginning to end and still crave for more.. Even though the first ALIVE CD will always be a classic gem from the past, ALIVE II has brought the entire catalouge to the present and beyond.. I totally recommend this CD for purchase and remember to keep an open mind when listening, you will NOT be disapointed!

- Good follow up, but more like trying to recreate the originalAs I have spent years listening to the original recordings and the true classic Frampton Comes Alive, I can't really pinpoint where I stand with this live album. It is good, and shows Frampton in his natural habitat; live on stage. I have to point out that most every moment or song on this album seems to be an echo of tidbits from the original album. If you took all of the successful ingredients of the first and attempted to replicate it on another live CD this would be the result. Peter still rips on Les Paul guitar as always.

- Very much aliveI just simply love this concert (I am familiar with old classic "Alive" as well). Nobody, except McCartney's Wings (IMO) creates and composes such musically enhanced blend of rock, where chords progress in such very pleasant and surprising way (take for example "You"). Frampton - great composer, performer and musician. This CDs sounds great !!

- Peter still Shining On after all these yearsThis is an excellent example of how Peter takes an already great set of songs and truly takes them to a new level Live. This was recorded, but of course, in San Francisco as a nod to the sentimentality afforded to him by the same rapturous City that provided the backing screams and applause for his excellent 1976 "Frampton Comes Alive" Album. And the sincere and hearfelt sincerity and appreciation given to him on this release is every bit as genuine as the audience in 1976. I should know, I was lucky enough to be in the audience the 2 nights Peter recorded this at the Fillmore on Geary St. The ONLY thing I can fault about this CD is that the record company didn't see fit to release ALL of the tracks from the early part of his career that are only found on the Alive 2 DVD, such as, Penny For Your Thoughts, I Wanna Go to the Sun, etc. Otherwise, Peter is full of fire and energy on this CD as usual, and I truly believe this is the best version of his Touring band by far since the mid-70's. The recording is also incredibly clean and well-balanced for those of you with ears sophisticated enough to appreciate such things. Anyway, if you're fan of Peter's, I really think you'll be happy with this CD. As a sidenote, I hope Peter releases "Art of Control" on CD one day. I know for a fact (as stated in interviews) he HATES that record because they asked him to "not sound like Peter Frampton(!), but I happen to appreciate it as a different sound for Peter and have worn the pad off my cassette tape! If any of you know anything about where to find a CD version (not a ripped from record blank cd) please email me at dhakius@hotmail.com. Peace. -Dave
