Beautiful Country: Patty Griffin Takes on TV

If you have no idea who Patty Griffin is, pull out your favorite record by the Dixie Chicks, Bette Midler, Reba McEntire, Linda Ronstadt or Emmylou Harris and take a look because they've all performed her songs. And she's all over TV this week, so take a Sanjaya break and check her out. If you missed her on The Tonight Show last night performing her latest single, "I Don't Ever Give Up," the Austin singer-songwriter is also appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show tomorrow playing two more songs—"No Bad News" and the amazing "Heavenly Day"—from her latest album, Children Running Through. She's also out on a national tour, where she puts on a great show, not to mention snazzy footwear. (People notice the shoes—and the song about shoes—as evidence that she gives them some thought.) Need more? Starting next month, her songs will be featured in the Off-Broadway musical 10 Million Miles. Okay, that's it; you can return to building that shrine to Sanjaya.
