Brad's New Adventure
Dec 07 09:24am
Superdad Brad Pitt and his glamourous friends have raised enough money for six brand new homes and is asking for our help for the rest. In a part of New Orleans devastated by Hurricane Katrina, Brad Pitt reached out to politicians, organisations, corporations and individuals to donate to his "Make It Right" project. The program is aiming to build 150 homes in the area where levees broke in the 2005 storm, letting loose floodwaters that pushed homes off their foundations."We chose to start here because of the devastation, because of the immense hurdles for the homeowners, for the residents to come back here," Pitt said.Pitt said he would like to see thousands of the homes built and would like to see his "green" building initiatives reach further than the Lower 9th Ward. Each house built will cost approximately $150,000 and as a safeguard against future flooding will be built on stilts. Pitt has promised $5 million to the project, and billionaire Steve Bing (one time lover of Liz Hurley) has pledged the same. What do you think of Brad Pitt's latest humanitarian effort?

I think Brad's gesture is wonderful. I am a senior and have seen so much selfishness in the world its a pity there are not more people like him. I still find it hard to believe their govt. took so long to help the victims at the time. Thank goodness for our s.e.s. Pat
