- Nice!

Somewhat more space-funk, jazz edgier than those off of Rough Cuts, which I didn't get into that much, though COCO is a good album and also features Lilja Bloom. I had to have Shine after hearing the title track ('Shine' with Lilja Bloom) off another compilation. I was quite taken by it.. and it kind of renewed my interest in Stelar. Anyway, this whole CD is a good piece of work for fans of jazz electronica, Theivery Corp genre stuff, etc.. Coco is also worth picking up.

- Choice Cuts

I rated this cd only 3 stars, because I was spoilt by there previous cd COCO, which I rate 5 stars. I like this cd, but it is more like back ground music with the exception of 'Lost in Amsterdam & Homesick' which are excellent. There music is a mix of electronic & old school.

- Love It!

I was so excited the day this arrived. I already had listened to some of the songs at work, and couldn't wait to listen more on a system with good speakers. It's hard to describe or compare this music with any other as I am knew to this sound. I guess it is jazz with light techno, but it's not all that way. Parov's music can be very different from each song to each CD. My favorite song on this CD is "Happy End". That song has no techno in it. It has beautiful piano and horn. It's lovely and I just wish that song was longer because I never want it to end. Thank you to Amazon for packaging well and a safe arrival!

- Great

I chose this album as my first Parov Stelar CD (and one of my few CD purchases) because it seemed to have the most jazz-dominant tracks, as opposed to the house-dominant songs of his earlier electroswing work. Parov Stelar essentially created the electroswing genre by combining swing with electronic music, and later spread out to include other jazz forms. So anyway, the disc came, I found the several songs I expected on it, and found most of the other songs intriguing. I'm especially glad that the bonus track "Homesick" was included, because it's my favorite song on the album and the main reason I bought it.

My CD came from Korea and has a sheet in Korean alongside the regular 4-page CD booklet. I can't read Korean but the names are in Latin letters, so it seems to have three paragraphs about Nu-Jazz and the artist, and five paragraphs about album and songs.

When I looked at options for purchasing this album, I couldn't find any US distributor, the only choices were directly from Etage Noir Records, which would require paying in euros and shipping from Europe and possible duty fees, or this Korean pressing through Amazon. I went the Amazon route and was satisfied.
