Description :
Canadian edition of 1997 'Best Of' from the former Black Sabbath frontman. Includes 3 track bonus disc with 'Fairies Wear Boots', 'Behind The Wall Of Sleep' & 'Interview With Ozzy 1988'. Slimline double jewel case. Review - Amazon.com :
The real reason to own this two-disc set is not to get Ozzy's greatest hits, but to get the "basement" recordings of Black Sabbath doing "Black Sabbath," "War Pigs," "Fairies Wear Boots" and "Behind the Wall of Sleep," as well as a hilarious interview with the Ozzman himself from 1988 (e.g. "I didn't think [Sabbath] were that good a band. We were all f--- up on drugs and booze all the time.) If you're an Ozzy fan, you'll definitely have everything else on this--from "Goodbye to Romance" with Randy Rhoads to his last single with Zakk Wylde, "I Just Want You." There is one unreleased track from the Ozzmosis session, "Back on Earth," but it's cheesy and unremarkable. --Adem Tepedelen Customer review - 2002-04-30
- What is This???????????????????All right now. There is no way in the world that this is a greatest hits compilation. NO WAY! To start things off it has no real sabbath material and there are lots of good ozzy songs that are missing and several not so good songs that are included. Well before I go off on a huge explanation on why this is trash here is an analysis of the entire album: 1.Black Sabbath/War Pigs-Don't let the titles decieve you. THESE ARE DEMOS. They sound like trash. Ozzy sounds like he's drunk at the time, and the lyrics aren't even right. They should have put some REAL sabbath material on here instead of these disgraceful demos. 2.Goodbye to romance/crazy train/mr.crowley:This is another one of my main problems with this albums. It focuses way to much on Blizzard Of Ozz.True Blizzard of Ozz was a good album but it does not deserve almost 25% of the entire greatest hits album. I would only have put Crazy Train. It's not just this album that focuses too much of Blizzard. Live And Loud had like 6 songs from Blizzard which is wrong. And the Randy Rhoads Tribute had the entire FREAKIN ALBUM. Enough said about that. 3.Over The Mountain-All Right Good Song, but I seriously think that Diary Of A Madman got seriously cheated. Only one song? They could have at least put Flying High Again, Diary Of A Madman, or even Believer on there. All of those songs are just as good and in some cases better than Over The Mountain 4.Paranoid(Live)-Why The Live Version? The origional was better 5.Bark At The Moon/Shot In The Dark/Crazy Babies-All good songs. Definetly should be on here. At least these albums weren't cheated 6.No More Tears(Edit)-Why is this the edited version. There are no bad words. It cuts out perfectly good music. Almost 2 whole minutes. Huh! 7.Mama, I'm Coming Home-Good song, no complaints 8.I Don't Want To Change The World(Live)-This live version from live and loud is awful. The whole song is messed up. Even that little grunt at the beginning got fouled up 9.I Just Want You-OK I have some news for you decent ozzy fans. OZZMOSIS WAS NOT THAT GOOD! That's real funny, naming the album after the process of water diffusing through an area of low concentration and replacing the s's with z's. By the way the song stinks 10.Back On Earth-One question: How can this be a greatest hit if no one has ever heard it? It says so in the booklet that this was left over from the Ozzmosis session and had never been released. Makes no sense if you ask me So all in all don't buy this its a waste of money. Your money would be more well spent if you bought every ozzy album. So spend wisely

- Great retrospective of Ozzy's careerThis was the first Ozzy album I bought, after I heard Crazy Train once on the radio. And I was blown away, not just by the great lyrics and guitar work and musicianship, but the sheer variety of music on this record. It goes from two old Black Sabbath demos (dark, heavy, satanistic) to Goodbye to Romance (soft, almost cheery) to No More Tears (a brooding epic). This album has a little bit of everything, and not just the songs you hear on the albums. There's a live version of Paranoid from the Tribute album, and a live version of I Don't Want to Change the World from Live and Loud. I don't have L&L yet, but from that song it sounds like Zakk wylde is in top form for the show. The last song, Back on Earth, was a leftover track from Ozzmosis, and, despite what people say about it, it is quite good. Not too soft, not too heavy. It's nice and brooding. It's not quite perfect, and it could quite possibly have been stretched into two discs, had he included things such as: Iron Man, the full-length No More Tears, I Don't Know, and Perry Mason. But that doesn't take away from this great collection. If you are looking to get into Ozzy, this is the disc to get. Or, if you have wads of money to blow, get one of the import versions. Happy headbanging!

- The Ozzman Has ArrivedAlthough this is Ozzy's Greatest Hits, it's far from over for the Ozzman. This is merely an excellent marketing plan to bring his music to a point of origin to draw new listeners, and make everyone familiar with his music for when his new album comes out early next year. It's filled with great songs from his early days with Black Sabbath, his days with Randy Rhoads, and his more recent times with Zakk Wylde. This is great for the new fan, or even the diehard fan who just wants a nice collection for the road.

- I Don't Wanna Change Your Opinions But...Ozzy Osbourne has a long carriere. He has sung in Black Sabbath 10 years and 20 years solo. How good can one CD capture it? The album starts with two Black Sabbath classics...actually they are old basement recordings: "Black Sabbath" and "War Pigs". There's a great represention some of the albums...they have really chosen the best songs from some albums. I think "Mr. Crowley", "Crazy Train", "Over the Mountain", "Bark at the Moon", "Shot in the Dark", "No More Tears", "I Don't Want to Change the World", "Mama, I'm Coming Home" are excellent choices. "Crazy Babies" is a strange choice. "Miracle Man" was one his live classics, so I would prefer to it. Also "I Just Want You"? "Perry Mason" is an all-time classic, why isn't it here? "Goodbye to Romance" was Ozzy's first solo song, a kind of farewell song to Black Sabbath. It's not a good one but it had to be included here. "Paranoid" and "I Don't Want to Change the World" are great live versions. They are fast and powerful! The new song "Back on Earth" is kind of creepy one. I think it is one of the best songs Ozzy has ever sung.
Stars: Mama, I'm Coming Home, Back on Earth, Bark at the Moon, Crazy Train, Mr. Crowley
