Review - Amazon.com :
If anything will drive a nail into the Backstreet Boys' coffin, it's this surprisingly impressive solo album from Nick Carter. The first of the Fab Five to break out on his own, Carter reveals a rocker's heart that's lurked under his high-gloss pop exterior. While he rasps and struts through his 12-song debut, we're not talking headbanging mayhem here. Carter excels in the brand of guitar rock that put Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams on the map. The elder Carter conjures the militaristic flamboyance of Queen on "Girls In The USA," or the teasing coyness of "Raspberry Beret"-era Prince on "My Confession." The anthemic "Is It Saturday Yet" is another highlight. Despite a seven-year tenure singing other people's songs as a member of America's favorite boy band, Carter proves himself an able tunesmith, penning five of the tracks on the disc, and plays some fine guitar. --Jaan UhelszkiCustomer review - 2002-11-01
- Decent DebutNot at all what I was expecting. I wouldn't have even bought the album except that I had to admit that I liked the first release "Help Me". I expected it to be mostly Pop with a poor rock attempt as Jive records tried to push another teen pop sensation on the world and drain every last dime out of him before the craze died completely. What I heard instead was an honest attempt at an artist trying to grow. The songs show some personal growth, but still Mr. Carter still needs to polish his writing skills. The best songs on the album are "Help Me", "My Confession" and "Do I Have to Cry for You". While the lyrics aren't the best, the music and performace of "Miss America" and "Blow Your Mind" are fun and upbeat tunes. Nick Carter sounds incredibly like Brian Adams on "Do I Have To Cry For You." This album brings back some of the 80's rock. I am impressed and not dissapointed that I own this album. I will be very interested to see the young man's next efforts. I love the 80's music of Bryan Adams, Journey, Bon Jovi etc. While Nick Carter is not at that level, he shows potential for that kind of music.

- Now or NeverNick Carter 22, year old Backstreet Boy has gone from pop to rock in his own solo album, Now or Never. The 12 track CD is written by Carter himself along with the talents and skills of Max Martin, Gary Clark, B. Kierulf and many more. Different from his Backstreet Boys sound Nick's crafted this debut album after his love for rock music. His personality definitely does not lack within the music on this album. When I first heard Now or Never I could really see how Nick feels when it comes to his music. The first track, Help Me, certainly sets the album off. The artist tells how he really is look at his life, and how he is just like everyone else nothing less. My Confession, sounds like a mixer of pop and rock. The lyrics flows together quite well with the music kind of poetic like. I Stand for You, is a great track on of the best on the album. I love the lyrics and the electric guitar in this song. It's fun makes you want to dance with Nick singing about where he to go and how he wants to live his life. Do I have to Cry For You, a pop rock love song the I love you don't leave me type, But Nick's it so well you can not help but like it. Girls in the USA, a song for the Carter Fans featuring Mr. Vegas. I love this song, hell the title says it all. Nick sounds like Arowsmith to me in the beginning of this track he sings this so good. I would rate this track the funniest on Now Or Never or close to it. Mr. Vegas makes it song so damn cool. I got You, This song is slower from all the others before it. It has a great sound to it and the music is awesome. But this song make's me wonder what is Nick singing about or to? Is it Saturday Yet, everyone asks that question right? Nick's personality shows in this track with it funny lyrics and crazy style. The chorus is really catchy and the song can get suck in your head easily. Blow Your Mind, awesome song!! Nick sounds like a real rocker here. The music is cool with its tenco rock style. But the best part is how Nick sings it, this is a get up and dance song I swear anyone would like this track. Miss America, okay when first heard Nick sing this I was like damn I like this! I don't really know much about this song but I love it. Nick sings it such emotion which just makes it is a good song all the way. I just Wanna take you home, fan's dad's worse nightmare? (maybe hee hee) The guitars is awesome here the guys in Nick's band rock. You can tell that they had fun doing this song just by the way it's play. I think it's great and funny...too bad we can't him home. Heart Without a Home ( I'll be yours) Nick sounds great in this track. I love this song it does remind me of the Backstreet Boys though it's rock. The lyrics remind of that I mean it has that pop love song quality. Who needs the world, this song is pop okay no way around it. It reminds me of Nick's song on BSB album Millennium, I Need you Tonight. I don't know why it sounds nothing like it. But is it beautiful and Nick sounds heavenly. This is the perfect slow song for a dance. So there you go I doubt you'll have any reason not to buy, Now or Never. It is and Great album why? I just told you

- Now or Never HOT HOT HOT!After being the heart-throb of one of the most popular groups in the world, the Backstreet Boys, Nick Carter has the chance to say what he's been holding inside most of his life. Keeping with him his pop sound in ballads like "Do I Have To Cry For You" and "Who Needs The World" he also has a chance to rock out his rackin' brain! In songs like "I Got You" and "My Confession," Nick still has a bit of pop mixed with rock to make his own edgy sound. What more is there to ask? Well, in his Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams type rockin' songs, "Girls in the USA" and "I Just Wanna Take You Home," the once-boyband, now-rockstar artist has the chance to bust out some drums and go crazy! In song like "Miss America" and "Do I Have To Cry For You," you can practically hear the pain in Nick's voice! I'd say Nick's album is a HUGE success you're gonna help him make happen!

- Nick Carter's New CD is Amazing!!!!!I've been a Backstreet Fan for the past five years and Nick Carter has always been my favorite. When I heard that he was releaing a solo album I wasn't sure what to expect, but when I listened to his new album, "Now or Never," I was totally amazed. Every song on the album is great. Nick has the traditional ballads such as "Do I Have To Cry For You," "Heart Without A Home," and "Who Needs the World." This album though, also features a new side to Nick. Songs like "Girls in the USA," "Blow Your Mind," and "I Stand For You," show Nick singing songs with more of a rock n' roll flavor. This album is perfect for the BSB fan, but I also think a lot of other people will be surprised by this album because it really has something for all music fans. Order "Now or Never" now and you wont be disappointed!!!
