- The New Found Glory that I missYou've probably heard of New Found Glory by now. Those guys with those catchy hits "Hit or Miss" and "My Friend's Over You". Those are great and all, but before that, there was this classic...Nothing Gold Can Stay. Let's start by saying this did not have the production budget of the 2 NFG CD's after this. It was much lower. Therefore the sound is much rawer, and that sound fits this CD perfectly. You can actually hear the emotion in Jordan's voice unlike their next 2 extremely overproduced CD's. Also, the quality of the songs are much better than anything later. Songs like "3rd and Long", "You've Got A Friend in PA", "2's and 3's", "Tell Tale Heart", "Broken Sound", "Never Sometimes", and my favorite, the emotional closer "The Goodbye Song" are all instant classics. These actually had time taken to write the songs. This was their first CD. Sadly, it was their last on an indie, since Drive-Thru Records was bought by big-time major label MCA. Then all the big major-label guys forced NFG to write overproduced, silly love songs only with dumb lyrics so the teeny-boppers would dig it. And it worked, sadly. It's terrible when major record labels take advantage of successful indie bands and pretty much tear the potential out of them. The only punk band that I can think of that got better once on a major-label was Green Day. Well, enough of my rambling. Just get this. You won't regret it.

- Simply Amazing Pop-PunkThis cd is definitely the best of New Found Glory, and is one of the top cds in my collection. I usually am more into harder punk like NOFX and Rancid, and ska like LTJ or Voodoo Glowskulls, but how can you not love this album. The lyrics are meaningful and easy to relate to (for a young 15 year old like me), and the lead singers voice is amazing and passionate. The guitar riffs are great and the drumming is insane at times. The new album is okay, maybe 3 and a half stars, but this one takes the cake. 1. Hit or Miss- An awesome track, the new version is a single, but this version is better, with more passion in Jordan's voice. 2. Never Snows in Florida- Amazing guitars in this song, really showcases the talent of the bassist and guitarist. 3. 3rd and Long- Easy relatable lyrics (my name isn't dissapointment, i only dissapoint myself), gets stuck in your head forever, which isn't neccesarily a bad thing. 4. You've Got a Friend in Pennsylvania- Good song, not the best, but good, and really emotional lyrics on Jordan's part. 5. The Blue Stare- One of the best tracks, great drumming, true punk. Should've been a radio single. 6. 2's and 3's- Pretty good, but kind of just blends in and is easily forgetable. 7. Tell-Tale Heart- Excellent lyrics, good guitars, fun to listen to. 8. Winter of 95- Amazing song, lyrics apply to me and situations I've been in in more ways than even I can understand. Can't help but sing along with this one. 9. Passing Time- By far the best song on this cd. In the song, Jordan basically tells about one part of my life exactly, and listening to this really helped me get through it. Fast, emotional punk rawk, it slows down, then climaxes with the "i'm never to far away..." 10. Never Sometimes- Starts slow, picks up, but probably the worst track. 11. The Goodbye Song- A good end to the cd, overall good track. The hidden stuff after it is pretty funny. So there's my lengthy, and probably boring review. If you like this cd, try bands like Midtown, The Ataris, The Juliana Theory, Saves the Day, and the Get-Up Kids.

- Oh, MAN!!Wow, these guys rock. I had never heard of them until I was in my record store when some guy gave me a tip to check them out. I gave it a try and was totally blown away! Every song stands out in its own way. Hit or Miss is just amazing, and it is one of my favorite songs of all time. It Never Snows In Florida, 3rd and Long, The Goodbye Song, and The Blue Stare are all incredible. This is easily one of the best cd's I own, which is quite an accomplishment considering I have a very wide collection of cd's that are very eclectic in style. I listen to everything from rock to rap to punk to ska, and this one is good enough to stand out of all the others. So go and buy this cd now, and while you're at it, buy their self-titled album as well as From the Screen to Your Stereo. You won't be disappointed.

- This cd pulls you in further every song. While i have been listening to punk for about 2 years i hadnt really gotten into New Found Glory much. I bought their newest cd self titled "A New Found Glory" about 2 months ago. I listened to it over and over again and i realized i was on to something great. Some of the best achy-brakey heart songs were on that cd. so i went out, and i looked for this...."Nothing Gold Can Stay" a rendition of pop-punk that sits in your head for weeks. with songs like the original "Hit Or Miss", "You've Got a Friend in Pennsylvania", "Winter of 95'", "It Never Snow's In Florida", "The Blue Stare", "2's and 3's", and "3rd and Long" this is a top-notch Pop-Punk cd that has great beats, riffs, lyrics, and hooks and im sure many people can enjoy it if they just sit down and listen to it.

- Best emo cd ever!!!!A New Found Glory's "Nothing Gold can Stay" is an unbelievebly great cd. From begining to end, it carries a strong, great sound that will pull you in deeper with each song. Not only does this blow their second cd out of the water, but it's easily the best thing on their drive-thru records label. 1. Hit or Miss - The best version of this awesome song 2. It Never Snows in Florida - good song, but not the best 3. 3rd and Long - Awesome song, one of the best on the cd 4. You've got a friend in Pennsylvania - Awesome song, one of the best on the cd 5. The Blue Stare - a good song, but not one of my favorites 6. 2's and 3's - The best song on the cd!! 7. Tell Tale Heart - Great song, with great guitaring 8. Winter of 95 - pretty good song, though a bit repetitive 9. Passing Time - Awesome song, second best on the cd!! 10. Broken Sound - Starts slow, gets fast, good song 11. Never Sometimes - good song, but again, not one of my favorites 12. The Goodbye Song - Awesome Song, a great way to end this great cd This cd rocks, it can't be touched by almost anyone else in their genre. This is a must own for everyone into emo, and it's their best work. Get this, "From your screen to your stereo" and their self titled, happy listening.
