Review - Amazon.com :
The biggest (and only relevant) member of the St. Lunatics crew fully indulges his rap-meets-R&B fixations on the enjoyable (if predictable) Suit. Whereas companion CD Sweat is geared toward the male thugs in the clubs, this one's for the thugettes. More lyrically compelling than Sweat, Suit shows a softer, more cerebral, less flashy side to St. Louis's favorite son. Check out "Die for You," Nelly's ode to youth, and the calypso-tinged, introspective "In My Life," which reveals a more worldly rap duke underneath the band aids and chunky jewelry. Nelly's unique "singjay" flows tend to take a backseat to the beautiful harmonies of guests such as Jahiem, who sounds like a modern-day Teddy Pendergrass on "My Place," and Anthony Hamilton, whose spot on "Nobody Knows" reminds us why he's the most underrated of the contemporary soul balladeers. When Nelly said he was going to introduce his Midwest style to a wider audience, he wasn't kidding: even country star Tim McGraw joins the fray on "Over and Over." --Dalton HigginsCustomer review - 2004-10-19
- The Softer Side of NellyWhere most rappers are looking towards the true gangsta image, "Suit" seems likes somewhat of a departure. Its shows a more R&B based rap, which is a great disguise on the first single, "My Place" featuring Jaheim. The sampling on "My Place" is ingenius and it is one of the biggest hits of the year (for me at least). My favorite songs are "My Place", "Pretty Toes", "Paradise", "She Don't Know My Name", "Nobody Knows" (brilliant job as usual Anthony Hamilton!), and "Die For You". Overall, I'd recommend this album to anyone!

- Sadly overlookedIt is amazing to see so many bad reviews of this CD. Since Nelly hit the scene he has not been what I would call true rap. He is however Hip-Hop. The best thing Nelly does is make radio friendly party and dance songs. This CD is full of them. Sadly, the most overlooked song on this one is "Over and Over". What other rap/R&B/hip-hop artist has put out a song that could show up on MTV, VH1, BET and CMT at the same time. Even though Tim McGraw has a limited role the song still holds on to it's strangely country vibe. This song is a must listen...even if you dislike country (as I do). Do yourself a favor and pick both new Nelly CD's up. They are a lot of fun.

- LOOK NELLY NEVER CLAIMED TO BE HARD, YOU ALL DID!I WISH PEEPS STOP HATING ON NELLY SO MUCH. Y'ALL AND THE MEDIA PUT THAT "THUG" LABEL ON HIM AS SOON AS HE CAME OUT WITH "COUNTRY GRAMMAR". I'VE NEVER HEARD HIM SAY HE WAS THUG OR HARD. HE'S ALWAYS TRIED TO MAKE SONGS THAT HIS FANS COULD DANCE TOO. ANYWAYS, I LOVED HIS TRACKS ON SUIT. ESPECIALLY, "PLAY IT OFF", "PRETTY TOES", "MY PLACE", "N DEY SAY", & "OVER AND OVER". IT'S TRUE RAP NIGHT LIFE MUSIC.

- Suit was suitted for meI don't care what you all say, Nelly is pure genius when it comes down to mixing rap, r&b, pop, and hell a country together! These songs symbolize the night life. Songs like "Play it Off", "Pretty Toes", and "In My Life" are great slow jam songs that will get you off you feet to dance. He expresses in songs like "Over and Over" and "My Place" of loss love and reclaming it back. And his serious side with "N Dey Say". To the people that say he's a sellout, STOP, because he has never said he is a thug like Tupac or goofy like Eminem. Nelly has a serious but fun side to him and people need to respect him and stop trippin' on his music.
