Miley Ray Cyrus (born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992 in Nashville, Tennessee) is an American singer, actress, and author. Cyrus is best known for starring as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana in the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana".
Miley's solo career began with the release of her debut album, Meet Miley Cyrus, in June 2007. Her second album, Breakout (Cyrus' first album that does not involve the Hannah Montana franchise), was released on July 22, 2008. Both albums debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. In August 2009, she released the EP "The Time of Our Lives", exclusively to Wal-mart-stores, to help promote her clothing line at the same store. She is also a member of Disney's Friends For Change with Demi Lovato, Jonas Brothers and Selena Gomez. They released the charity song "Send It On" in August 2009.
Miley is the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus and half-sister of Metro Station's Trace Cyrus.
