Análisis de usuario (en inglés) - 1999-08-27
- FANTASTIC !Salamandra beautifully embraces the essence of what Bosé's music is all about. Its songs are as polyfacetic and controversial as the artist himself. We'll go from the senxual " Nena", to the charming "Aire soy". Bosé touches everyone of us with songs that poetically and openly mention pornography: "Salamandra"; Homosexuality: "Todo un hombre" or human rights: "Partisano". This last song particularly refers to the recent war in Yugoslavia and it is a humanitarian call for peace. On this production we can also be delighted with two tracks recorded in English:"You live in me" and "Amazonas" which only presence made this album worth listening.

- A Classic that holds up decades laterAlthough most of the songs are in Spanish, even English-only listeners will enjoy this record. During his early years, Bose was sort of the Latin David Cassidy - adorable and super-pop-star type. With this record, Bose is more like the Latin Bryan Ferry, developing a crooning, dead sexy vocal style, lush and layered musical tracks, and slinky, sensual grooves. The incredible "Salamandra" is a nearly perfect song, winding sinuously through your brain as you listen, and refusing to leave it later on. "Nena" is quintessential pop, while "Aire Soy" is a light, airy, lovely tune. "Partisano" is rousing call to peace and brotherhood, and "Todo Un Hombre" a reflective, thoughtful musing. The album itself has no duds, and all songs are memorable and cool. This, in my opinion, although most of the rest of them are also very good, is Miguel Bose's best record, an instant classic that has stood the test of time.
