- MEGnificent music!
After years of listening and watching Megadeth on radio and MTV, I finally decided to obtain this "Greatest Hits" collection. Very heavy and melodic with Dave Mustaine's snarling vocals! Long before buying this collection, I was only familiar with songs like "Symphony Of Destruction", "Sweating Bullets", and "Train Of Consequences", songs you'd only hear on the radio. Now, after listening to this collection, I've realized just how truly great the band is! Combine the technically proficient fast guitar playing with Dave's biting lyrics and cynicism and lots of melody and you have some truly MEGinificent music! My favorite track overall is "Peace Sells" followed closely by "Mechanix". Classic thrash metal never sounded so good! I've already ordered Rude Awakening and The System Has Failed. Most of all, I'm already looking forward to the release of their new album, United Abominations. In all honesty, I think these guys are even better than Metallica!

- Holy Sh**...the Punishment Due, Megadeth lays the Smackdown
Many Megadeth fans would agree that this is their best compilation. These songs were chosen by popularity votes on Megadeth's website. In translation, th fans chose the songs, while produced by the mastermind Dave Mustaine himself. I would recommend this album for any Megadeth fan, for it spans the ferocious career of Megadeth with all of the different lineups and their greatest most effective tracks.

- Hungry Again
It's great to get a good collection from Megadeth although this isn't perfect. I would be missing some songs like "Tornado of Souls", "Hook in Mouth", and "Set the World Afire".

"Mechanix" from "Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good"
- A great choice. Metallica fans can recognize this song because it has the same melody as "The Four Horsemen". Still, there would have been great songs is in that album, like "Last Rites/ Loved to Death"

"Wake Up Dead" and "Peace Sells" from "Peace Sells...But Who's Buying"
- Great choices, two best known songs in that album...still "Devils Island" and "The Conjuring" would have been great songs too.

"In My Darkest Hour" from "So Far, So Good...So What"
- A good choice, it's defintely their best known in that album, still "Set the World Afire" and "Hook in Mouth" are very good too.

"Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" and "Hangar 18" from "Rust in Peace"
- Great choices but still missing the song "Tornado of Souls", as well as "Take No Prisoners" and "Lucretia".

"Sweating Bullets", "Skin o' My Teeth" and "Symphony of Destrction" from "Countdown to Extinction"
- If "Rust in Peace" is their best album, this is their best-selling album. Three great choices and I cannot argue about that

"A Tout Le Monde" and "Train of Consequences" from "Youthanasia"
- Great choices again!

"Trust" and "She-Wolf" from "Cryptic Writings"
- Defintely the best songs in that album but maybe I would have left "She-Wolf" off and taken for example "Hook in Mouth" from "So Far...".

"Prince of Darkness" from "Risk"
- The best song in "Risk"

"Dread and Fugitive Mind" from "The World Needs a Hero"
- OK...maybe "Moto Psycho" would have been the HIT!

"Angry Again"
- This is taken from "Hidden Treasures" and defintely a good choice.

"Kill the King"
- I love this song! It's so heavy metal!!!

Stars: Holy Wars...the Punishment Due, Wake Up Dead, Symphony of Destruction, Hangar 18

- Well deserved best of album
While Megadeth may not enjoy the huge amount of commercial success that Metallica does, a greatest hits album is certainlly justified.
If you like Megadeth but arent a big enough fan to buy all of the albums,, this cd is for you. On an interesting side note, all the songs on this cd were chosen by Megadeth fans, via an online poll on Megadeths official Fan-Forums.
