Fans upset with the loss of K’naan now have Fitz and The Tantrums to warm them up at the Maroon 5 concert Nov. 20. Mike Taddesse, university events assistant director, said Maroon 5 personally chose Fitz and The Tantrums as the replacement act.

VTU was informed late Friday that K’Naan will not be the opening act for Maroon 5 on Nov. 10. The tour has instead placed Fitz and the Tantrums as opening support.

K’naan will no longer open for the sold-out Maroon 5 concert on Nov. 20 at Texas Hall. Mike Tadesse, University Events assistant director, said the Somalian-born rapper will miss a few dates on his tour with Maroon 5 , some of which fall on the scheduled UTA date.

Their music is still slick, radio-ready pop-rock at its core, though, with all the stylistic aberrations folded seamlessly into the mix.
