- Thank God I Purchased This Single!
Miss Carey has once again proved her worthy throan in the pop monarch with this wonderful new single. This time around she recruited r&b sensation Joe, and the soulful, "boy band" quartet 98 Degrees. The song has a very powerful message that only Mariah can dictate, with that beautifully rich, and smooth voice.

This powerful song sends the message of undying love and incredible hope. So, I'm sure once we all find our "special someone" this song will mean so much more than it already does.

The "Celebratory Mix" is rightfully named,in that it makes everyone want to dance. With the original version and this mix you can't go wrong.

This song deserves to be Mariah's (again, record breaking) #1.

- NEXT #1 HIT FOR MS. CAREY!
Mariah Carey proves herself once again on this extroadinaryly excellent song with Joe and 98 Degrees. The song is very romantic and touching and deserves Ms. Carey another #1.

- Thank Mariah We Found You
Mariah Carey, well, she scarcely needs an introduction from me, and this single is not an astonishing departure from the soft-rock balladeering she is more widely known for in this country. Her collaborative streak is still being used in an attempt to validate herself as an R'n'B artist, with Joe D and 98 Degrees offering just enough credibility for her to nullify the allegation that she is still a wholesome little American sweetheart.

Little is certainly not an adjective to bandy about when refering to her voice and, for all the mushiness which others rebuke so loudly, it is still one of the biggest, most distinctive and inherently beautiful examples of the human voice around. Unfortunately, this track, which is hardly as anthemic as earlier efforts such as "Hero", leaves me somewhat cold.

The multi-layered vocals do little more than stifle the main singing and the melody itself is, whilst not being dire, is a pale reflection of some of her more successful endeavours. It is not a bad song, but it has an unwelcome air of songwriting-by-numbers. That is to say, it's a clichéd (an thus slightly stale) attempt at emulating all her most successful singles (of which there are a great many, it must be admitted!) and it ultimately falls short of the mark.

It is pleasant to listen to, but it lacks the clarity and simplicity to be as easily recognisable and memorable as other ballads. It is generally unsatisfying, having been spoilt by the attempt to please everyone and ultimately pleasing only the most die-hard fans.

PS Incidentally, has any body else noted that - without fail - every single Mariah Carey album (except 'Merry Christmas' - well, there's one to every rule, you know!) opens with an up-tempo number and is invariably her first single from that album? Her next release is, again invariably, a ballad.

PPS She should have released "Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)", a quality rendition that does as much credit to its original as Whitney did to "I Will Always Love You".

- The single is better
I used to be a real big fan of Mariah, but latley she has really disappointed me with her new image.

I was big on Mariah when first came out in 1990. My favorite song if hers to date is "Fantasy", especially the ODB Mix.

Although, I do not like Boy Bands like 98 Degress, I was impressed when I sampled this CD single. I do like the 2nd track on this single (Celabatory Mix) because it has a dance club feel to it.

If your a club person as I am you should enjoy the 2nd track especially. Personally, I don't care for the video or MTV for that matter. Nonetheless, I added this single to my other Mariah Single CD "Fantasy" from 1995.

It may seem like I am slamming Mariah, but it's her new image that I dislike. Her new style is a major turn off considering her awesome lyrical talent. But sample it and see for yourself.
