This is Mariah's best remix for one of her songs. There are two Maxi singles. I like C.D. 2 the dance remix better. She has amazing vocals and will blow you away. C.D.2 is always in my C.D. player, even though the songs are like 10 minutes long their not boring because she has more time to do what she wants and is not confined in getting it all done in like 4 minutes. A must have for any True Mariah Fan.

I'm not a Mariah fan, but this song is amazing. Definitely, aside from "Vanishing', the best song she ever released. The "Soul Convention Remix" is great, and really highlights the gospel aspects of the arrangements. She also does some great vocalizations that aren't in the original. Too bad her current music has taken such a turn for the worst.

The "Anytime you need a friend" CD single #1 is a great single to have. The title track is a gospel-influenced ballad with a very strong lead vocal and incredible background vocals provided by a gospel choir. Along with the album version of the title track are 2 remixes (also pretty good) and then a wonderfully serene ballad (no over powering vocals on this one) called "Music box".

Even better is the AYNAF Cd single #2-it is filled with 4 remixes of the title track that provide the ultimate soundtrack for work-outs, driving long distances, parties, or even just as background music. I highly recommend both CD singles!!!

I don't have the maxi single but I downloaded the Soul Convection Remix of Anytime You Need a Friend and it is very cool! Mariah has amazing vocals and this is one of her best remixes.

I don't get why people love "Anytime You Need a Friend". It pales in comparison to "Hero" or "One Sweet Day". It's boring and way too long.
