Review - Amazon.com :
This "special edition" album follow-up to Mandy Moore's debut So Real is heavy on sighing ballads, both new and from the earlier disc. I Wanna Be with You exists mainly to ride the success of its title single, which opens and closes the album in original and dance versions. Two inferior Wade Robson remixes (of "Candy" and "So Real") pad the CD, as do most of the previously unreleased tracks; the best cut here is So Real's sweet "Walk Me Home." Moore fans will be happy to own this, but her first album remains the better of her releases. --Rickey WrightCustomer review - 2000-05-09
- Mandy New CD Rocks! This is the CD of the Millenium. It has the 4 best songs from her old album, two party remixs of "Candy" and So Real" from her old album, plus the "I Wanna Be With You" remix. Then you also have 5 new songs which are from fast paced, "Everything My Heart Desires" to the soul full ballad "Your Face". All the songs show Mandy's immense talent. So if you're looking for a CD to rock your world! THIS IS IT!

- One Sweet Voice!!Mandy Moore is another female teenager trying to hit it big in the music industry. Her first album "So Real" didn't gain her the star power that Britney or Christina currently enjoy, however it did feature some very clever songs like the hit "Candy" which did give Mandy enough fans to score a gold album. Now she's back (sort of) with "I Wanna Be With You" a mix of old material featured on her first album and some new songs. And while this CD does not feature superstar songwriters and producers to write, "hit songs" it features many tracks that clearly indicate a style that separates Mandy from Britney or Christina. The title track "I Wanna Be With You" is a lovely ballad. It's lyrics are very simple and Mandy sings it with here trademark soft, enchanting voice. Songs like Everything My Heart Desires and So Real allow Mandy to tackle an up-tempo song, which she does quite well on. "The Way to Your Heart" is one of my favorite songs on the album. It's a mid-tempo song in which Mandy tells the boy in her life that she doesn't want to lose him and that she wants him back in her life! I really like the way the song flows, with it's catchy melody and lyrics, which Mandy takes to the next level. And while some of the other songs are weak in terms creativity, perhaps the highlight of the album comes with the song "Your Face" From the opening bars of the song (which features a beautiful piano intro) you can tell that emotions will be flowing in this one. Mandy sings this one perfectly, with a very soft, tender voice that increases the emotional depth of the song. Musically the song is by far the maturest track on the album as an orchestra compliments Mandy's empathic performance. A tear fell from my eye after one listen to Your Face, as it's just that powerful. So while the album isn't perfect, it does have its moments. Perhaps a trip to superstar songwriter Diane Warren will help Mandy find that one hit that will take her to the next level were Christina, Jessica and Britney are currently at!!

- Mandy "I Wanna Be With You" too! I'm glad you told me!Mandy Moore is a great singer and I have learned that she can't be compared to Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera because Mandy has her own unique voice and style. Mandy Moore is class and Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears are yesterdays trash. Just because Mandy has only had extreme success with the single "candy" that doesn't mean she is just a one hit wonder, greater success come to those who are patient. Mandy Moore shows great enthusiasm in her work by the way her vocals are displayed in Mandy Moore's new CD "I Wanna Be With You". Tracks: Track 1 > I Wanna Be With You: There is nothing more to say this track is great, we have all heard it and most of us have loved it. Track 2 > Everything My Heart Desires: By the name of this song you probably think it is some lovely or corny ballad, but think again! This song has a great beat just like "Candy" but in know way does this song sound at all like "candy" this song has its very own catchy toon. Track 3 > Want You Back: This song is from Mandy's debut album, it is a great song and I am glad that Mandy decided to include it in her special edition CD. Track 4 > The Way To My Heart: This is another song title that sounds like a lovely or corny ballad but it has a great guitar beat that is very catchy. This song is no ballad but yet it still is very sweet and it sound even sweeter with Mandy's voice. Track 5 > So Real (Wade Robson Remix): This remix of "so real" is a bit corny but for all you folks that like rap then this is the perfect remix for you. Though the original version of "so real" has an up-tempo beat this remix beat is much slower but it still sounds great. Track 6 > Lock Me In Your Heart: This is a slow song off of Mandy's debut CD, it is one of my favorite songs and now that its on the special edition CD it remains one of my favorite songs. This song is another sweet song that is perfect for Mandy's beautiful vocals. Track 7 > Walk Me Home: Now this song is a ballad that my 8 year old niece is really addicted to, it must have some potential if its my 8 year old nieces favorite song on the CD. Track 8 > I Like It: This song has a disco beat to it and it would be great to dance to. This song was also on Mandy Moore's first CD. The beginning of this song sounds a bit like a commercial I can't remember. Track 9 > So Real: This is the song from Mandy's first CD of the same title. Hey you have to leave something in memory of the First CD. Track 10 > Candy (Wade Robson Remix): Cant get enough "Candy", this remix is yummy and it's not tacky as most remixes are. Track 11 > Your Face: This song is another ballad that is not very catchy to teenie boppers. Maybe it will attract old folks. Track 12 > I Wanna Be With You (Soul Solution Remix): What a great way to end your CD, with the same song as the first track of the same titled CD. But its not exactly the same, it a remix. You may be thinking that this is another slow beat like the original version, well think again the beat is faster than you think, you totally want to dance to it. Everybody I asked so far says that the remix sound better than the original and I was hoping maybe Mandy would make a Remix video with this song as well but she didn't. Oh well maybe next time! You'll love this CD folks its got everything from A-Z including vitamins A, B & C. This New Mandy Moore CD is "So Real". Mandy more is what you call real teen pop she is only 16 years of age, Britney Spears is 18 & Christina Aguilera is 19 they are considered adults. Although Mandy may be 16 her voice sounds so adultish and sexy but yet still inocent and it shows with the vocals she used in this CD. I hope I was able to convince you to buy this CD and help Mandy Moore's CD reach Platinum!

- This Sounds Familiar...I do like Mandy Moore. The reason she only got 3 stars instead of 4 is the fact that only 5 of these tracks (not including remixes) are new. Some of them are pretty sweet."I Wanna Be With You", the title track, is beautiful and romantic, and seems like a perfect theme for the ballet movie ("Center Stage") which it serves. "Everything My Heart Desires" sounds more like a remix than some actual ones on the album, but still holds its own as an uptempo ballad (yes, I'm aware that that's an oxymoron). "Want You Back" and "The Way To My Heart" are both sweet, innocent songs, and truely deserve to be singles ("Want You Back"'s guitar is delectible!). The "So Real" remix makes the bump-and-grinder seem more like R&B, a welcome change, I assure you. The tracks that are on Mandy's other album were probably chosen very carefully; they seem to be the more mature ballads from "So Real". The "Candy" remix is mediocre. Ditto for the "I Wanna Be With You" remix. "Your Face", a draggy ballad, shows that Mandy is probably a spectacular live act, but her attempted powerhouse vocals fizzle on this track. My only regrets: 1) Why isn't "Not Too Young" on here? It conveyed such a powerful message. 2) Mandy needs new material, although most of the new harmonies on this album dazzle.

- Impressive Album! Here's my track-by-track review: 1. I Wanna Be With You - the song that turned me into a fully-fledged Mandy fan. I just love it and it's soaring and beautiful. 2. Everything My Heart Desires - a very cool dance track that could be a club hit. 3. Want You Back - starts off slow, then picks up to a nice tempo, another good track from Mandy. 4. The Way To My Heart - Aw! One of my favorite tracks on the CD. I love the accoustic guitar and the chorus...and the whole song basically. 5. So Real (Wade Robson Remix) - I don't really like this track, the music is strange in a weird way. It's a little too dark (at least to coincide with my image of Mandy *L*) 6. Lock Me In Your Heart - Another lukewarm track. I don't really like the music in this song, but Mandy's voice is good, so it's ok. 7.Walk Me Home - When I first heard this song I didn't like it, but after listening to it a few times, it's really grown on me - one of my favorite tracks. 8. I Like It - Yep, me, too. I love this song, it's really catchy and 70's-esque. Makes me think of a groovy video. 9. So Real - I don't really like this song. I don't know why? It just does nothing for me. And the thing about her "innocence" sort of gets annoying. Sorry *L* 10. Candy (Wade Robson Remix) - An excellent remix of this very cool song. This remix certainly does justice to the original. 11. Your Face - It's the slowest song on the disc, and it seems to go on for a long time. 12. I Wanna Be With You (Soul Solution Remix) - A *great* remix! Talk about a dance hit - this remix is one of the best tracks on here. No fan should miss it!
