- Do You Want to Boogie Woogie? Here's the tracklisting for the USA Maxi Single of "Music"... 1) HQ2 Club Mix 8:50 2) Calderone Anthem Mix 11:55 3) Deep Dish Dot Com Remix 11:21 4) Groove Armada Club Mix 9:29 5) The Young Collective Club Mix 13:16 6) HQ2 Radio Mix 4:04 7) Calderone Radio Edit 4:25 8) Deep Dish Dot Com Radio Edit 4:15 9) Groove Armada 12 Mix 5:30 Madonna reclaims her stand as supreme diva with her newest single "Music." The maxi single is choc full of remixes galore that will appeal to all lovers of dance music. (a nearly complete collection of remixes save for a few dubs that were left off). The Calderone remix is glorious and proves that he is the right man for the job of remixing Madonna. The radio edits are a nice surprise as well. It's surprising that the original version was left off, but that alone will justify the purchase of the regular single. Music is amazing...buy it!

- Perfect!I must admit that I downloaded the single on the Internet as well as many remixes, but I'm still glad that I bought this CD. It contains 9 tracks, many of them unreleased (yet) on the net. Curiously enough, the original album version isn't included. The video might not be the greatest thing, but the single is near perfect and ALL the remixes are excellent. The remixes on this CD are, 1)HQ@ Club Mix 2)Calderone anthem mix 3)Deep dish dot com remix 4)Groove armada club mix 5)The young collective club mix 6)HQ2 Radio mix 7)Calderone radio mix 8)Deep dish dot com radio edit 9)Groove armada 12 mix. Enjoy!

- I'll be boogie-woogie-ing to her acid rock...Yes, I am a Madonna fan. I picked up the single to "Music" because I have to own it. I was little disappointed that the album version was not on this CD, like it was on the singles for "Frozen," "Ray of Light" and "Nothing Really Matters." So, I just chanted to myself that nothing *really* matters and I'll just have to wait for September 19th, or try to tape it off the radio like I did when I was in grade school. This CD was fun to listen to. I am a big fan of the remix. I treat it like its own art form, like a theme and variations of sorts. I tend to complement my CD collection with the remix singles of my favorite tunes. Of course, I would purchase "Music." (See first sentence of the first paragraph for the reason.) I have only heard the album version of song once on the radio but the remixes have whetted my appetite for the album of the same name. They work. They mix the electronica feeling of _Ray of Light_ with familiar sounds of the 70's and disco to create something extremely appropriate for 2000. (What do we call this decade, eh? The Zero's... the Aught's... any ideas?) With an ear in the past and a sampler prepared for the future, these remixes are just what we need, right now! After listening to the CD, I wanted to postulate that the sample of "Music" that was leaked to the public came from a Calderone remix. In July, I remember hearing an endless loop of "Music... Come together..." just as it appears in Calderone's mixes. If anyone can confirm, thanks. I give them my stamp of approval, but I do wonder how the "Music" remixes will sound in five years. In the meanwhile, enjoy!

- Hey Mr DJ, put my OTHER records on!I was really pshyched to hear that Madonna was releasing her first single from her upcoming album. However, when I heard the song past the cool entrance, I was almost instantly... bored. This song has no depth, musically, and lyrically. Catchy production, and deep grooves, but the song itself is, well, boring. I recived the Canadian single --- which has 4 mixes: the album version (original) The Groove Armada 2"... Calderone... and Deep Dish .com Radio Edit. The ORIGINAL was the best, and from there on, the song deteriorated. I highly reccomend "Nothing Really Matters" and, from The Next Best Thing, TIME STOOD STILL. Now THOSE are true Madonna songs. I'm just praying her new album is like "Time Stood Still", or even "Ray Of Light"... keeping my fingers crossed!!!!!!

- Music , and just that.Being a huge Madonna fan, one cannot really say that I am objective when it comes to speaking about Madonna (I got up on my day off at 8:00 am to see the video premiere on M6, a French tv station). Furthermore, I am also a fan of Mirwais and Taxi "Cherchez le garcon" Girl. However, even I am currently surprising myself with my less than rave review of the maxi-single "Music." Lyrics are really lacking on this single. While I recognize the fact that this single is a "dance" single and not a ballad like "Oh Father," "Frozen" or "You'll See," and thus the lyrics are consequently not nearly as important, I am still disappointed that for over an hour, the listeners are "treated" to hearing the word "music" more times than they care to count (in fact, I still have not found the time to listen to the whole maxi-disc in one session; it's too long). Other unabashedly dance singles by Madonna in the past were at least a bit more creative in their lyrics (meaning they had lyrics, no matter how silly they might seem) e.g. "Get into the Groove," "Vogue," "Deeper and Deeper" and "Ray of Light." The disc becomes repetitive very quickly on this level. This song is not Madonna's creativity at its strong point. However, there is music, and after all I guess that's what it's all about (keep in mind that Madonna does not write the music nor is she the lead producer on the remixes). The real credit on this single goes to the handful of producers who worked on this single. While I am not a big fan of acid-house music, this single does make you want to "boogie woogie." The beats are deep and hard, maybe too much so for certain fans. Just add some smoke and a stobe light or two and it's an instant night club where ever you are. This said, even the music gets a bit weary and tiring after twelve-minute remixes that seemingly never end even after they have run out of steam. Luckily there are the radio edits which merit more interest than the somewhat ever-lasting dissonant club remixes.
