- How can this CD be so under-rated?
Double Trouble may not be the most well known of the Skynyrd catolog, or even the best, but it is still the best insight into Ronnie Van Zants soul. The lyrics on songs like "Was I right or wrong?", "Comin' Home" and "Am I losin'" are some of the most soulful lyrics ever sung by a rock crooner.

Altough mildly morbid(because of his father being alive), "Was I right or wrong?" is one of the most hauntingly true songs you'll ever listen to. No matter who you are, when you hear the line about going home to show his father how well he did, only to find a tombstone, will send chills up your spine. Its a bueatifully done song and is well worth the price of the album.

- A Perfect Southern Rock Record
Lynyrd Skynyrd will probably always be the most well known for "Sweet Home Alabama", "Freebird" and the tragic airplane crash that took the lives of what was the very core of the band. While 'Sweet Home' and 'Freebird' will never be diminished or go away (two of maybe the only songs played on radio in daily rotation that don't make you sick of them- probably in company only with Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody".)

Double Trouble is a real jewel in the bands crown. It somehow finds a way to make perfect laid back beer drinking music without being stupid and incorporate amazing playing and lyrics. Skynyrd was a band that, almost better than anyone, mixed extremely dark songs with more upbeat, Allman Brothers-esque songs.

There's no filler trackshere, every song is a keeper and sits next to its genius title track very comfortably. These guys were truly in this for the love of music and playing, and there's never a false or shallow note hit. Any fan of Skynyrd worth their salt must own this, and fans of southern rock, country and even metal (as this has many fundamentals that would end up making that genre) will also enjoy this.
