- Was a great EP when it came outNow the cuts on this EP, plus a couple more bonus tracks, are all on the 1998 reissue of the self-titled Lucinda Williams CD, so most people will probably want to look for them there. But if you already have the original Lucinda Williams CD without the bonus tracks, you might still be interested in picking this up if you find it for a good price. Here are the timings:
1. Passionate Kisses (2:40)
2. Nothing in Rambling (3:13)
3. Disgusted (3:12)
4. Goin' back Home (3:25)
5. Side of the Road (3:57)
"Passionate Kisses" is the studio version that later appeared on the Lucinda Williams album (original and reissue). It's a great recording, better than the hit cover version, more punch, verve.
Tracks 2, 3 and 5 are live recordings from KPFK in Los Angeles, now on the Lucinda Williams reissue. Very fine acoustic, or mainly acoustic (not sure about the bass), blues (2, 3) or folk (5) songs. A studio version of "Side of the Road" was included on the Lucinda Williams album, and the reissue has both versions. A favorite of mine.
"Going Back Home" is another nice acoustic blues song recorded with Taj Mahal on guitar and harmonica. Again, this was added to the Lucinda Williams album reissue.
