Back when Three Dollar Bill Y'all$ came out, I (and all my crew) thought Limp Bizkit was top ish in this business. They were heavy, Fred could sing, and rap, but mix it up real nice. Significant Other came out, and showed a change in the Limp, which I seen as good and bad. They were a little less hard, more pop in their sound. They were still rockin though, and great for a pit... so I liked it. Chocolate Starfish pushed the limit. Few of the songs were of great Limp like the old stuff, and this album has killed everything. Significant and Starfish each had one nothin-but-rap song on them, and that was definitely BAD ENOUGH!!! Now, Limp has released an entire album which does nothing but turn their old hits, which were great freakin' songs, into worthless vocals over RAP BEATS!!! The best part of Limp old and new had been Wes' guitar rythyms.....so much for that. This is one deadly sin Limp should never have made!!!

Wow, I really hate this collection of "remixes." Thankfully, I can honestly say I do not own it, but I have heard in it it's entirety and it is just HORRIBLE. I've been itching to write a review trashing this album for the past year, and I've just now gotten around to doing it. First off, why would anyone need six remixes of "My Way" (One of them featuring the horribly untalented P. Diddy)? Add to the fact that they chose pretty much the worst collection of Limp Bizkit songs to remake. I mean, really, "Rollin'" is embarassing enough without the remix. The good songs that were remixed were horrible too. For instance, the Timbaland remix of "Rearranged," which is one of the best Limp Bizkit songs, totally wrecks the value of the song. Sam Rivers' excellent bass is ruined by some music that I can only describe as "chicken sounds." It's just horrible. "Take A Look Around," probably the only worthwhile song off of their last album, is just boring here (Notice Timbaland remixed this too, are we seeing a pattern?). Even respectable producers put themselves to shame on here, with people like The Neptunes and Butch Vig working on this, one would think there would be some value to this CD, but there isn't. The only mix on here that is remotely tolerable is the "Faith" remix featuring Everlast, but that's been floating around since 1999. What can I say that will detour you from buying this album? It's just the worst piece of music I have ever heard and I am eternally grateful for every minute that I do not own this CD.

Even the thought of Limp Bizkit making a remix album is funny. If Fred Durst and his band hadn't sold out before this, there's no question about it now. And everybody hated their "Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water" album, so why would LB (or anybody) think that some bad songs would somehow be better if they're "remixed"?

Not surprisingly, Limp Bizkit's first--and hopefully only--remix disc does not improve upon any of the band's past effots. In fact, "New Old Songs" is composed of sixteen completely unlistenable songs which actually make Limp Bizkit sound worse than they really are. Some normally decent songs (like "Nookie," "Breakstuff," "Rearranged," "Take a Look Around") are absolutely butchered on this C.D., and the bad songs (i.e. "Rollin'") are made even worse! Plus, as if one remix weren't enough, why would you want (1, 2, 3, 4...) FIVE, count 'em FIVE (!), versions of "My Way?"

The Neptunes' remix of "Nookie" is definitely in the running for the worst song ever. Even a Limp Bizkit diehard would be very hard pressed not to laugh out loud when a female voice comes on (around the 2:30 mark) and sings "noookieee." Next, the "Take a Look Around" remix loses all of the original's good guitar and bass riffs, and the "Breakstuff" remix sounds so poppy and fluffy, the violent lyrics sound ridiculously out of place. Then there's "Faith/Fame," which has been floating around since 1999. This remix doesn't have any of the catchy hooks or raw emotion or angst of the original. Finally, "Rollin'" continues the downward spiral. This song sounded very stupid when it was in its original form, and it was even worse when it was remixed with Red Man and Method Man, so why did Fred feel we needed to hear it once again?

"New Old Songs" is so annoying, ridiculous, embarrassing, and all around excrutiating to listen to, it can't even be a recommended purchase to hardcore fans. And it is so terrible, you shouldn't even recommend this disc to your worst enemy! It's worth hearing a couple of the songs, but just for a few laughs and so you know how God awful this C.D. is!

If you thought the original versions were bad, then these mixes will leave your mouthfeeling like hell. For good rap-metal listen to Rage Against the Machine, Body Count and E-Town Concrete, and for good music in general listen to Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Sepultura, Metallica (hell, even the new stuff's better than this crap!), Anthrax, Sevendust, etc.

If you campare this cd to their other cd's, then this one sounds like a lot of crap. If you don't want to take my word then you can spend 15 dollars on a load of what should have been better.
