Honestly, I love Laura Pausini. She's great. Italian, Spanish, English - doesn't matter. Escucha Atento's a good album, with gems like "viveme", "me abandono de ti", "como si no nos hubieramos amado" and "tan importante" - but I can't give the album more than 3 stars because there are a few songs that, quite simply, feel deflated.

Fillers like "donde el aire es ceniza" , "hablame" and "tu nombre en mayusculas" fall short of sticking in my memory like the others, and I'm not necessarily holding that against Laura (since I don't know who has the ultimate say on what songs make the final cut), whose voice is as strong as her previous albums. I feel also like there are waaaaay too many of those synthesized orchestral-string sounds. I don't know - it gives me "mid 90s" -- one reason why I love this album is b/c of their use of unplugged sounds -- piano, acoustic guitar, etc. It highlights her naturally powerful voice. They unfortunately didn't use those sounds enough, and when you set Laura's voice aside Yanni-esque overtures (think "bendecida pasion", it doesn't sit well. Too Celine. I can't jump for joy over this album, sadly. It won't be a waste of money, but it didn't blow me away.

En este cd se nota la evoluciòn de Laura. Es difìcil introducir nuevos elementos en la mùsica sin perder tu esencia y tu capacidad de trasmitir emociones.
Vìveme sin duda es una de las mejores baladas de siempre y la mejor canciòn de Laura. Hasta al màs sordo se le eriza la piel al escucharla.

Por què no le doy 5 estrellas al cd? por Hàblame--la voz de Laura se oye horrible. Grita mucho--, Amar completamente--bonita letra, interpretaciòn cursi y melosa-- y Ma abandono a ti--buena mùsica, buena letra, buen comienzo, pero al final te duermes. Creo que es muy larga la canciòn.

I must confess I prefer Laura Pausini in italian rather than Spanish. But this CD is great in both languages. She sounds as sweet and sensual as always.

Laura Pausini has the rare ability to make you fall in love with a song, even if you are a girl like me!!

Thanks to a T.V. series the single Viveme has received the most publicity. It's a great, melodic and inspired song.

But I prefer Me Abandono a Ti, Escucha Atento and Hablame.

If you are a Pausini's fan, this is a must have CD. But I recommend you buy both the Spanish and Italian editions, so you can compare. And I bet you'll agree Italian is even grater.

P.S. - By the way, as a Laura's big fan, I want to share with you a "discovery" I recently made. It's about a sexy, young Guatemalan composer/singer. Her name is Shery. She is new, and she is hot.

If you like Laura Pausini, you'll love Shery. As far as I know, she hasn't yet launched her first album. But her songs are available free of charge at her website (probably for a limited time only). Just search Google for Shery and the name of one of her songs.

Try El Amor es un Fantasma, and Libre (the Libre video is also available at her website). She sings with passion, with feeling, and (as Laura), is able to make you feel LOVE with a song. The first time I had my boyfriend listen to Libre, and I felt jaleous!!! He loved her.

Stay tuned, because this beautiful, fresh voice will definitely be making big waves in the music industry, just as Laura has been doing (for our enjoyment) for more than a decade.

To her longtime fans, you will be surprised by the new style Laura has in half of the songs that are much more solid, rock influenced, up tempo and less screaming on her part. Lyrics are very much melancholic throughout the cd, which can become a bit of a drain, but the music composition, sounds and changing to fast rhythms cover that theme when needed. One much more aggressive Laura, especially in the hit single RESTA IN ASCOLTO or ESCUCHA ATENTO in Spanish, where she talks about her ex like many of the 8 other songs, dominate the Cd and is easily one of the best songs on her album. Different than her other cds, takes some adjusting to, but after a few times of escuchando ATENTO, you will understand why her style has become this way. I HIGHLY recommend her italian version CD, because the songs sound much better in their original lyrics and native tongue. The words are not as forced and do not sound as "sad" as they can be interpreted.
Laura's voice is just as solid and stronger than her previous albums. After four years, well developed album but could have done it sooner. However, nothing can overtake Entre tu y Mil Mares, that for me is still her best track. Buy the CDS ORIGINALS!

I'd like to tell you that this is the 5th review I write on Laura Pausini albums, I have since then changed my e mail but encourage you to look for my name and the highest marks on customers being helped with my reviews.
Escucha! I like the title to begin with. Laura is once again opening up to her fans and letting her voice flow to the words bursting with the emotions her heart feels day to day. I can't decide which is my favorite song yet, but I am truly impressed with these changes, the rythm of these songs are great, I would describe this album as evolved. She speaks of love like always and mistakes, mistakes, mistakes, those that make us who we are going to become and that reflects on this cd, Laura is much more mature just like her music, still with her unparalled voice and complicated yet understanded lyrics it is truly a work of art. We all look for these words, because we don't know how to express them ourselves and when you listen to these songs you realize how beautiful life can be with her music to place you where you are.
This cd is very inspirational to me, it's very personal and once again Laura sings without fear, no fear of making something we might not like, and again she strikes gold! Brava Laura! See you soon. Can't wait to hear you in concert, you truly have an angejelic voice!
